Monk-Luwawu-Simmons-Saric-Embiid is what I'd roll with but who knows what they're thinking.

The carcass of Meadowlark Lemon would get court time over Knight at the moment. He plays enough D that someone might accidentally trip over him, or draw a charge.

Seriously, though, I'm hoping either Ball falls to us, or we take Isaac.

How would our defense be on the perimeter with Ball and Booker? Not great?

IMHO, Ball is a good but not elite defender. I think Ball may not have the footspeed to stay in front a lot of PG's.

Edit: But he's big, and that always helps! He's a 1 who could legit guard 2s.

If the Kings want Fox in the worst way, what are the willing to do to secure him?
I'd bluff them and say that we want Fox and don't care that he didn't work out here. Make them give us #5 and #10 for Fox and some marginal asset.

I must confess, I read this thread every day and I am on information overload with still 9 days left to the draft lol. I just want the 23rd come so I know who we have and Summer League countdown starts :)

I've been thinking about that but it's risky if the Kings just take one of the other 8 PGs in the draft. If we had the Sixers and Knicks between our picks, we'd have a ton more leverage because then you could reason either of those teams would take Fox. But we don't have a need for Fox (on paper), we'd have a big logjam which we'd have to resolve, and his agent refused a workout so they know he'll be angling to get his player out of there.

Looking at the rest of the draft, we could kick the tires on the Knicks and see if they want the pick but I don't know that they have anything we'd want back along with the 8th. Besides, they'll like have a guy like Nkitlina or maybe Monk on the board. Same with Dallas...no real assets and they could have a PG on the board they like.

Tremendous understatement. He's barely a defender as it is.

So with this talk that Josh Jackson got a promise and he worked out for the second time with the Lakers today, and also the talk that Ball is out of shape and they may mot like him even though he won't work out with any other team and keeps insisting he going to play with the Lakers. Could it be possible that the Lakers are arrogant enough to devise a plan where they take Jackson and then let Ball fall only to essentially strong arm the team to take a lesser deal and get Ball too?

What do you do if they don't bite?

Kind of reminds me of the Tyler Ennis gamble thinking Toronto wanted him. It didn't pay off.

It would end up being Mozgov and 28th for Ball and Knight.

And a conditional second round pick. McD would be excited that we are collecting picks that can be used to acquire a star player.

If we draft him he's ours for 5 years minimum. Why would we feel any need to give him to the lakers? LA and Ball would have no leverage, not for at least 4 years.
