Re: Around the League: The Offseason
25.3/4.5/6.6 on 46.8/41/89.8
21.1/4.8/6.3 43.4/33.5/84.7
I would say these two players are similar in stats, with the shooting statistics being slightly better on player 1. However nobody on this earth would compare the two players on the same level. One is Steph Curry. Two is Bledsoe.
Obviously I'm biased as a Suns fan but I would never compare Russell and Booker. Stats aside, they are on different planets IMO.

I'm a Russell fan, but I wouldn't trade #4 for him.

The only way we help Cleveland is if we receive Kevin Love for the #4 Pick and one of our schmoes.

Love, Hurts.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Same here. What if we make it a 3 way with Detroit. Detroit would probably do #12 and Reggie Jackson for Bledsoe. I don't really want Jackson, but I'd take him if we could move 12 for Russell. My guess is LA wants a higher pick than 12 though. Might just depend who's on the board, supposedly they want Collins/kennard. I think one of them would be there.Shabazz wrote:I'm a Russell fan, but I wouldn't trade #4 for him.

Sorry my comment was a bit tongue in cheek.carey wrote:Yes. Griffin's assistant GM is out the door too. It's very weird to fire your GM days before the draft and working deals to improve your club. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I'm not very interested in D'Angelo Russell, though I don't know his game very well. The low FG% and poor defense concern me. I defer to others if they know him better than I do. Why not just run Ulis as our PG if we are going to settle for somebody like Russell?
I actually would do a trade for Kevin Love if the price was right. I think he has been underutilized in Cleveland and can be an exceptional big man in the 2018 NBA. Able to shoot the 3, and a rebounding monster. And he's 28, no dinosaur. I know we are not trying to "win now," but I always believe if you can make your team better and add a key player you should give it serious thought.
If McDo can find a way to unload Bledsoe or get us a quality player/pick before the draft, I will be really impressed.

We don't want Russell. Rumblings out of LA is that he's still pretty immature and thinks he's already arrived.
I think Love is criminally underutilized in Cleveland. Not sure what we can offer, but I'd buy low on him. I feel like Chandler would go a long way there, but they may not be interested in his defensive skillset. Also not sure I want to give up Chandler.

Sounds like somebody was pressuring Griff to make deal he didn't want to make, or to not make a deal he really believed in.bajanguy008 wrote:Hmmmmcarey wrote:Yes. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Some of the stuff I've seen said Griffin was trying to win now but also prepare for life without LeBron, which Gilbert wasn't trying to hear. If the Cavs throw the kitchen sink (future picks) at the Bulls or Indy for Butler/George, we'll know if that was the truth.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
so david griffin is now available. david in, mcdo out?
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I would still like to get Love and pair him with Chandler. Would we beat the warriors this season? Not if the Ws are healthy. But you have to start winning sometime to build that winning culture and get guys used to competing.

The Knicks are listening to offers for Porzingis. Doesn't mean they'll trade him, but if we offer the 4 pick, I think we could get it done. The Knicks want more picks, they want to move up. Make them take Knight and the 4 pick for Porzingis and KOQ.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
My initial offer would be #4, Warren, and Bender and I'd be willing to throw in the Miami picksShelC wrote:The Knicks are listening to offers for Porzingis. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Well you start with Knight and work up. I think the 4 pick is a legit starting point. They'd have a shot at Fox, Tatum or Jackson and at 8 could take Markkanen.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Git on them phones McDo! #freethezinger
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Lets be realistic here, Knight is a bum, the Knicks wouldn't want him. We don't want him, why would they?
Chriss or Bender and 4. Thats where it starts IMO, and I'd gladly do either of them.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Word is the Knicks really covet Jackson. If he is available at #4, I would approach them with a Bledsoe/#4/Bender/future Pick for Porzingis/#8/salary filler. Take DSJ with the #8, and suddenly we are really looking at something. A core of DSJ/Booker/whatever/Chriss/Bender oozes potential and fits in perfectly with the modern NBA. We would need to plug the hole at SF with a defensive oriented played, but boy would that be exciting.ShelC wrote:Well you start with Knight and work up. I think the 4 pick is a legit starting point. Call me crazy, but if we trade for KP, he should be part of our core.n4th4n wrote:Word is the Knicks really covet Jackson. Yes... you raise an excellent point. And I am not going to edit it so that I am forced to live with my shame.Indy wrote:Call me crazy, but if we trade for KP, he should be part of our core.n4th4n wrote:Word is the Knicks really covet Jackson.
