I had a similar thought last season. I thought Jokic looked better than Porzingis. I still really like Porzingis though.carey wrote:Do you guys watch the Knicks all the time or are you just buying the hype? Whenever I see him play I just don't see it. He certainly is not KG or Dirk out there. I'm not even certain I don't like Jokic more than KP right now with his insane passing ability.

So Kings could have had Lonzo but said no. Looks like they are all in on Fox.

I think you have always overrated him. I love that trade for the Lakers. Russell isn't a good piece to build with; can't trust his head, and his physical tools aren't that good.Shabazz wrote:Love it for the Nets. People are sleeping on D-Lo.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Agreed. I think DLo is a bum. He, like Booker will probably never defend at a high enough level to be a positive on that end. Physical limitations are hard to overcome defensively.INFORMER wrote:I think you have always overrated him. I love that trade for the Lakers. I just want to go back in time and Give Stan VanGundy the Coach of the Year award for every year he dragged Dwight / Hedo / Rashard into the playoffs. That team won 59 games twice and went to the finals once!JCSunsfan wrote:https://twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA?ref_ ... start=1480
Plumlee, Belenelli and the 41st pick for Dwight and the 31st pick. Wow.

Look at the history of other PGs production throughout NBA history as 21-year olds.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Agreed. I think DLo is a bum. I do have big concerns over his maturity level/makeup and minor concerns over his D, but I think he's got a lot of talent.
I don't hate the trade for the Lakers. Like it more for BKN, though.

One of the teams contacted was the Phoenix Suns, sources relayed to ESPN. A proposal of Jordan in exchange for veteran center Tyson Chandler and the team's No. 4 pick in the 2017 NBA draft was discussed, sources said.
The Suns, however, are believed to have balked at the overture.

We've been mentioned as a possibility in just about every big name trade rumor. Butler, Love, Porzingis, Jordan, Drummond. While I don't think we'll make any of those trades, it seems pretty clear that McD is active on the trade fronts.

Seems like they could have gtten more for Russel. It'll work out for LA because players want to play there now and it seems destined they will sign two high level guys in the next year, but Russell I thought was worth more. They used hi to shed salary, which is surprising. I like the Trade for the Nets who couldn't of gotten much more for an aging Lopez. I saw him play in person last year, he looked like a shell.I think Russell will flourish in NJ.INFORMER wrote:I think you have always overrated him. I love that trade for the Lakers. “Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Told that so long as the 4th pick is involved for DeAndre Jordan, this trade will not happen. #Suns really value that pick.
I take this as we were actually entertaining DeAndre but not for #4

Apparently not. It was reported that the Lakers called every team in the lottery trying to trade DAR for a lottery pick and couldn't get anyone to bite.Sunsfan4life wrote:Seems like they could have gtten more for Russel. I should say he'll flourish if they put the right pieces around him and he gets his head on right. He's still really young though and I think the move out of LA will help him mature.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
This piece on Russell says alot and watching him play he never really created much, most of his assists were in transition. In BK they really push the pace and he will get plenty of shots so he should be good for Fantasy league
The biggest revelation, though, was that Russell may actually be better suited to operate as a shooting guard rather than a conventional point guard since he's a capable spot-up shooter who can use the threat of an improving jumper to take defenders off the dribble.
"I feel like when you're playing shooting guard, you've got to score the ball or make plays for your teammates," Russell said after he erupted for a career-high 40 points as the Lakers' starting 2 in a March showdown against the Cleveland Cavaliers, per ESPN.com's Baxter Holmes. "Playing the point guard, it's harder to do that, be aggressive, try to score the ball every time, because you've got to make at least one pass."

How old is Jordan? He makes some sense as neither Chriss or Bender is a good rebounder or defensive anchor, but I still don't think it's the kind of trade we need to be making right now.bajanguy008 wrote:Jordan SchultzVerified account @Schultz_Report 9m agoSplit T wrote:We've been mentioned as a possibility in just about every big name trade rumor. I'd draft the best available player, run our young guys out there again next year and see what we've got. I'd also shop Bledsoe/Chandler/Warren and see what offers we get.

Sure...I'll do Jordan for Chandler. If the Clippers play their cards right, I might throw in Knight:)

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
The LAL-BKN trade increases the chances that BKN makes a free agent offer to Len. I don't think he'd be their first choice, but he fits their timeline and makes some sense there.
