Actually think this is good for us. Bad for teams like Atlanta, Chicago, and Brooklyn. We've been tanking and have added some legit talent, we'll start winning more games now and our lottery odds won't drop as much. It could hurt us if it goes into effect for the 2018 draft, but the article says they would ease into it and there's probably a decent chance 2018 keeps the current model.

I really like the general gist of this idea from the ESPN link. Anything to reduce the incentive for teams to tank. Please.

They are really pushing for a limit of getting consecutive top 3 picks and not allowing it. That would have sucked for Sixers, Celtics and Lakers, since they all had consecutive top 3 picks. Also, how is it going to work for traded picks? Like, the Lakers pick or Nets pick can't be top 3 this year?

I think you'd have to base it on the original team who had the pick. So this upcoming year would eliminate Brooklyn's, LA's, and Sacramento's picks from being top 3. But Boston, LA and Philly could still get top 3 picks this year as long as they don't use the Brooklyn, LA, or Sacramento picks to do it.

Was trying to figure out where to post this but obviously it resonates with me as I live in the Caribbean and have been fortunate so far to have Harvey and Irma miss my island. There is a poster who I remember usually says he would be going to the games in Miami in his Suns gear but can't remember his Username. Well hope if any of you have family in the Florida area that things are Ok and that this article maybe puts some more perspective to what you might have seen on the News.

ESPN is doing their "NBA Rank" thing again. I always find this to be a big yawn. Who cares who ESPN thinks are the best players in the NBA? Are we supposed to argue back and forth about this stuff? It strikes me as pretty obvious filler during the offseason when there's nothing else to really talk about. Players seem much more concerned with their 2K video game rating than their ESPN #nbarank.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/908086432996229120 Clearly the HEAT like this group because they basically paid all the main rotation to keep the team together

They can probably do o.k. in the East with that group. They need Winslow to become something though. He's been a pretty big miss so far going down to 35% from the field last year.

He was the #10 pick in the draft and hasn't been too bad given where he was picked. But yeah, he initially looked like a budding star and has since fallen off a lot.

As for the Heat, I don't really know what to make of them. Had a horrible start to the season, then had an amazing second half. Were they facing opponents who were resting down the stretch? Which is the "real" Heat team?

I personally think they're more of a .500 team. Not as good as the second half of the year, but not as bad as the first half. I think they'll make the playoffs, though, especially in the awful East.

He was a very bad scorer in limited games last year, but was a very good defender for them, moved the ball very well, rebounded a little. It's tough to call him "a pretty big miss" when he lead the team in minutes for a few games then went out injured. Spoelstra obviously thinks the rest of his game outweighed the scoring struggle. We will see what he looks like playing a whole season this year.

Winslow will always have high expectations attached to him since Charlotte passed on 4 first round picks from Danny Ainge to (not) draft him.

So does Frank Kaminsky have those expectations too?

I'd say so. I imagine Miami passed on the same offer. Winslow wasn't supposed to last that long.

I just saw Kyrie in a Cavs uni really the cover of NBA 2k 18.

He had a great playoffs, so I understand why he would be on the cover, but they've had forever to get the uni right. I wonder if there is some contract with the Cavs where they have already paid to have the Cavs jersey on the cover, etc.

But I bet nobody in Cleveland buys this copy of the game.

LOL, oops. That's awkward. Of all the players they could choose.

What about in the game itself? Did they properly move him onto the Celtics at least?
