Seth McFarlane is good friends with the ST:TNG cast, especially Patrick Stewart, who's been on his shows many times. They have even done episodes where large portions of the TNG cast have appeared on Family Guy, such as:

The Orville is almost more ST than Discovery is, especially if Seth is playing it straight instead of going for the comedy.
