Sounds like Bob needs a hug.
Or Earl needs to do some arts & crafts.

Yep, I'd think a collage would be in order.

Sarver can only blame himself for being a cheap POS and not paying for a real coach.

He should meet with himself and decide if he actually cares about having a successful franchise.

The thing about cheapskates is, they want it both ways. He'd probably only want to pay a half bil to buy an NBA franchise, but if you asked him to sell the Suns, he'd want $2bil because that's what the Clippers sold for, or some bunk like that. He will probably not sell for a long time because these owners get addicted to the attention and fame of being pro sports owners.

At least the BK trade had a defensible rationale behind it. There was NO defensible reason for only interviewing a single coaching candidate.
I still don't know why we ditched Horacek.

I'd say both together but moreso $arver. Yet again a huge mistake that will haunt the franchise for a long time.
Do you guys remember how Sarver himself went down to the locker room to fire Horancek's assistant coaches? Watson reports to Sarver and was hired by Sarver.

In hindsight, it would have been better to keep him but it still wouldn't have been a good long term solution.

I just worry that the wrong expectations will cause pressure on McDo to go trade some important assets like picks for win-now veterans who don't fit our goals.
I agree that when I heard that I knew Sarver was delusional. I think he really believed it too. I wonder what he is thinking now?
Told Ya So. He thinks he has a team that can compete for a playoff spot. Whenever McD talks to the media about how young teams rarely make the payoffs, but you never know, it's part of Ryan's internal political campaign to change Sraver's mind and get a little more control of the roster.

We added one of the top draft pics, We lost little, and the coach is the same.

Can someone tell me what happened?
What are you seeing now that you didn't see 6 months ago and what might explain it?
My opinion is that there are a couple of things at play here:
1. We stopped playing Dudley and Barbosa. Those vets know how to play regardless of what the coach coaches.
2. We dropped the last remnants of Hornacek's offense.
3. The existing guys see through Watson, and aren't going to pull his wight any more.
4. Last season we had Knight for a scape goat. This team doesn't have a scape goat.
5. We've been saying that the Suns are probably better than their record for 3 years now.

Exactly. Can he swallow his pride enough to let the basketball people run the basketball side and he can stick to the business side?

The biggest issue is that, in his mind, he doesn't realize he's the problem. Ego is a son of a bitch.

It sounds as if Triano is not even close to a good interim coach. If it really his offense that we are running how can we expect anything to change?
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

And so...Watson rides off into the sunset. I thought that he was a great interim coach but a poor hire for the full role.

Triano seems to have the reputation of being fairly decent...but a horrible defensive coach.

Let's see how the young players respond.

Yeah, we've got all the bases covered.
Judging by the empty seats and the cheering for opponents, perhaps we should add bad fans to the list.

But we have one of the best radio play-by-play men in the league. I guess that's something.
I have a hard time saying it is the fans' fault there are so many empty seats. Why keep paying for a product that is one of the worst in the league, and has been for years? And those seats 8-10 rows up you see on TV, are $300 a pop. Over 41 games that is a ton for a pair of tickets to watch your team not show ANY growth from game to game.

Yeah, that's a bad investment for anybody good with their money. Better to just watch them at home and suffer in silence. ;)
