If Brooks didn't have have prime MJ confidence on offense he'd be a pretty valuable player, but we cannot have that bum on this roster.
Also, where is Marcus Smart nowadays? Seems like he could run the PG spot with Booker.
Washington…I thought about a Beal trade to Washington that returns Smart and another contract. Unfortunately Khris Middleton made like 1 million too much to fit. Beal and a 1st for Smart/Middleton would be something I’d consider.
Also Brooks has been better about the offensive stuff in Houston. Shot attempts are down quite a bit and he shot 40% from 3 this year. He seemed to have settled into his role as a 3&D guy more and stop trying to be a star.
Is there anything to make of Jones being there or the fact the he hasn't been let go already? Obviously if he weren't there it would mean he's gone. Would they have him show up to answer questions about the season and then let him go or not renew his contract later on? Maybe everyone's just in a tough spot with timing but you gotta think Ishbia/Bartelstein have their minds made up about Jones.
Maybe a new Jones contract is being announced today?
Be careful for what you wish for. Isiah Thomas coach/GM incoming...

Patrick Beverly maybe?
Edit: And CP3 as coach

He could absolutely put Isiah in there to give direction to Bartelstein and Jones. He'd be a "buffah" for Ishbia so Ishbia can continue to not be involved in basketball moves.

Beverly doesn't offer any tangible NBA skill, so no thanks.
Wasn't he a point guard? And you hate him on other teams but was a decent and annoying defender. Also he gave it his all and never quit. I was just thinking that was exactly what we needed this season. Of course he also could go too far.

Beverley just isn’t good anymore. He’s not even in the league. I am not a fan of the guy at all, but I would agree that the team could’ve used a little of what Beverley brings…but the Beverley that was a good nba player. He’s washed now

Beverly can go suck on an icicle in Siberia! I would never allow him to step foot in our gym. That would be 10 times worse than when we signed Mario Elie.

Sup...the meltdown amongst a few here would be epic...not that I want that either...

I really don't think Washington is going to take Beal back from us. They have moved on. I kind of like Marcus Smart but don't think it would work out to trade for him.
I would be calling Orlando nonstop trying to work out a Beal deal after Boston sweeps them. They might be desperate enough for scoring that they would take a chance on him. Maybe Beal for J. Isaac, Bitadze, and filler. I heard a podcast suggest that and I really like it for both teams.
I like some of the Knicks players, but I bet the ones I like are not the ones they would want to give up. May depend on how they do in the playoffs this year.
Mostly I just want to trade with Houston. They just have so many young guys and picks and assets, and honestly they can't even develop or pay them all, so it makes some sense for them to give some of them to us for KD. Folks mentioned Jalen Green. IMO that would just be yet another mismatch like our current Big 3, with too many redundant overlapping guys who all want the ball and want to score. Green would just be another Beal, arguably slightly better in some ways, but with a lot of the same problems. I like Green somewhat as an asset, but not as a fit for our team.
I really want Houston to lose to GSW in the 1st round so they will become desperate for a trade. If they go on a deep playoff run, they might stand pat. And at the very least they would not be desperate to make a panic trade. I want them to get wrecked in 5-6 games by GSW and really doubt their ability to score. KD can score, Houston, you know you want him!

Yeah, I was hoping we already hit rock bottom.

I want Houston to lose in round 2. If they lose in round 1 I think they’ll decide they are too far away to trade for KD…if they push OKC in the WCF, they might think they don’t need to go all in on KD…there’s a nice middle ground somewhere where trading for KD makes sense.
I agree on Green. Don’t think he makes sense here. I’d love to trade Beal to Orlando, but doubt Orlando would do it. I would however not be surprised if we could reroute Green to Orlando for something.

Stephen A. Smith Apologizes After Getting Called Out by Suns Owner Mat Ishbia The ESPN personality apologized for mentioning Donald Sterling while discussing Ishbia's tenure as Suns owner.
Yeah, some apology. He ends up comparing Ishbia to an uncaring owner. Obviously Ishbia cares. Big time. It just hasn't worked out on the basketball court yet.

Never healthy. You're setting yourself up for failure if you bring him in.

A couple of back end roster moves I'd like to see is bringing in Oscar Tshiebwe (great culture guy, rebounder, tough) and Jaylen Nowell.

Trading for Marcus Smart, who I like a lot but don't want, would be the exact surface level move Ishbia would make to show he's serious about getting toughness, defense and grit.

Would also be another perfect example of getting a guy three years too late.
