I like Grayson Allen. But if we are keeping Green, I don't think we have room for him. And he's probably our most tradeable asset right now and could net us a pick and some cap savings. I personally would rather trade Grayson than Royce because Grayson is a worse defender and can't as easily play the 3. Trading one of the two seems like a good idea.

I like him as a deadeye shooter and now that we have shotblockers behind him, he may be less of a defensive liability. But he may also have less value on a not-so-great team like ours. He's a luxury for better teams that have two legit guys who are the focus of the defense and are rim threats where he can get those open looks on kickouts. He was a good add in theory with our Big 3, the talent mix just wasn't there.

Why not? He’s a backup 2 and we don’t have any others. We also don’t have anyone else who is nearly as consistent of a 3-point shooter.
Royce is way more redundant with Dunn, Brooks and NHD on board.
We’re also starving for shot creation and Grayson is much better than Royce at that.

Well said.

I don't want either of them. Royce is short and extremely streaky from 3 and doesn't offer anything else despite this board thinking he's good at defense.
Grayson is elite from 3, but there's a lot of players out there that shoot 40% from 3 nowadays. And he makes Royce look like he's a good defender

How many guys shoot over 40% on at least 5 per game?

I could easily shoot 40% with 3s in my younger days. Maybe closer to 50% tbh.
…wait, you’re talking about basketball?

Ya, KD, Grayson, Royce, and Tyus…only 2 guys shot better than Grayson on the list though and it was KD and Zach LaVine

Staying out of the lottery is the priority this season.
Honestly that doesn't accomplish anything. Might make Ishbia feel better.

Funny enough if you look at fg% in different zones, we led the league in at rim fg%, led in long 2s(by a mile), think we were 2nd from midrange, and 3rd from 3. It’s kinda mind boggling, but then you remember the defense and the fact that we shot way too many mid range/long 2s

Strange. I don't remember any defense.

We were horrible because we consistently got smoked in the possession game. Turned it over a ton but never forced any. Gave up a load of offensive rebounds but never grabbed any.
That and we had no heart or grit and played with no effort or energy.
We could have shot 50/40/90 as a team and it wouldn’t have mattered.

Yeah the 2024-25 Suns could be studied in a lab to understand team chemistry and roster dysfunction. You look at those offensive numbers and wonder how a team that gifted could end up with such a bad record. But watch one game and the eye test says it all. They didn't care, didn't try, didn't hustle. They just chucked on offense and played lazy, poor defense. Really a waste of a ton of talent.

Bright Side living up to their name:
The Suns won the Kevin Durant trade, and it’s not even close
Sensational to think this already? I think not. Addition by subtraction is a thing.
https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2025 ... s-analysis
Let’s just say it plainly: the Phoenix Suns won the Kevin Durant trade. And if that makes you uncomfortable, it probably means you’re still clinging to a version of the team and Kevin Durant that was always more illusion than contender.
The trade wasn’t about disrespecting Kevin Durant. It was about moving on from a failed experiment. And the result? The Suns didn’t just reload. They reimagined their future and came away with something they never could’ve had if they held on to Durant for one more go-around...
Hope.
Let’s break it down piece by piece, and then you tell me if the Suns fleeced the Rockets or not.
