The bum knees really make me hesitant about this Kennard deal. I don't like bringing in a guy that young who already has knees that bad. And we have an absolute trash medical staff now, so I have no confidence that we'll do well at helping him recover.
Is there a report indicating this knee injury is something more serious than just an isolated knee injury? I haven’t really looked into it.
I just know he's been out for over 20 games with bilateral tendinitis of the knees.
According to The Detroit News:
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sport ... 655269002/
Kennard’s injury history has become a concern, as he’s missed chunks of each season, including the last 22 games for the Pistons, because of knee tendinitis.
Well I do agree that the injury is concerning. It’s pretty impossible for me to know how concerning though. The suns medical staff has to make that decision. Commenting on him just as a basketball player, he’s very good and really answers a lot of very specific problems we’ve had this year on offense.
Except that he's a shooting guard and that's not what we need. If the Suns get Kennard, we will see lineups with Carter, Jerome, Kennard, and Booker together.
Honestly, he probably eats into Jerome's minutes if he eats into anyone's. You will see him and Booker play the combo guard together without a PG is my guess, since they both can create, shoot and distribute.

You’re focused too much on position and not on what skills they bring. Just list our biggest weaknesses:
Shooting
Offense when Booker sits, specifically on ball offense
Defense in general
Kennard would immediately be our best shooter. He’d be either our 2nd or 3rd best on ball scorer.
Yes there are some defensive concerns. He brings a little of Booker’s offensive skills, but he also brings his defensive skills too. Kennard/Booker would have to spend time together on the court, which means one would either have to be a 1 or a 3. That’s fine offensively, but defensively it is gonna be a problem.

Think that’s either incorrect or just posturing. Suns announced recently that the game after the trade deadline is Kelly Oubre bobble head night. He’s not being moved.

I do not believe Kelly will be moved or that they are actively considering it. I do NOT believe, however, that a bobblehead night would put the kobosh on any trade. Nor would you ever hear from any former GM's that they didn't pull the trigger on a trade due to an upcoming bobblehead hight. Jussayin

Sure, but why even make that announcement days before the trade deadline? If there’s a chance you’re gonna move him, just wait. Now of course it could be that other teams are just calling us about him. In that case, you’re right, if you get a great offer, you gotta take it.
Edit: Well I guess the bobble head night was planned from before the season. They were just announcing it because it’s the next home game. So I take my comments back, haha

The same logic as bringing in a 3rd pg a few years ago.

That was more about having 3 guys who were best with the ball in their hands and only 1 ball to go around. Right now we need players that can make things happen with the ball in their hands.

Feel good about that. We’re not moving an unprotected pick and it also shows that our front office wasn’t dumb enough to offer one.

Grizz got Winslow for Iggy. Wow. What a series of moves in the past year. Jones has a lot of work to do. A Lot!
I fully expect Jones to whiff on all trades and then give us some BS like “Oh I didn’t see anything that would improve the team. I believe in this group of guys...blah blah....we’ve had a lot of injuries...blah blah.” As a Suns GM, this is the way.
Edit: Gallinari to Miami in this deal now. Winslow to OKC. Wow! Miami going for it.
Man, imagine how much higher they’d be if we hadn’t snatched up Tyler Johnson right from under them

I mean Alec Burks, Christian Wood, Kurucs from the Nets are 3 guys who could be had for little or nothing at all. Find a back up PG and add him to the list and this bench would look a hell of a lot better.
This isn’t rocket science. I’m not sure why James Jones can’t seem to figure this out.

Welp...
Did I not just make a list?
Did I not say certain players could be had for cheap?
Is this not one of said players?
We’re down 6 players. It’s the trade deadline. We suck. And yet still crickets from the front office.
Frustrating shit James. Real frustrating shit
