Can’t say after watching the first 3 quarters that I expected no Booker, Crowder, or Ayton in the 4th…very happy with the bench unit..We should have a lot in the tank for Houston. Mikal did still play 36, but only 30 for Book and 23/22 for Ayton/Crowder.

Credit New Orleans...they may be called the Pelicans, but that team has a lot of alligator blood.
They'll be dangerous in the play-in.

Antonio Daniels is a really annoying TV analyst.
I didn’t mind him so much. I think Joel Myers is in the top tier of pbp guys with Kevin Callabro and Ian Eagle so I generally like the Pels broadcast.

Ya I felt good about their broadcast…I mostly only notice when they are bad, and I didn’t notice much. They said a lot of nice things about the suns.

I want no part of them in the playoffs. Especially if Zion has a chance to come back. I think we’ll beat them, but they’re built very well to give us problems.

Suns still have trouble with the Jaxson Hayes-types at the 4/teams going jumbo against us. If Ayton gets beat on the perimeter, we’re toast on the glass. The only regret I have about the Stix deal is that he’s, in theory, a little better next to one of our Cs than Craig against that type of lineup. Craig offers more versatility in small lineups.
Ideally we punish those jumbo lineups with Crowder hitting shots and transition O, but if other teams keep forcing us to take it out of he basket after offensive rebounds that becomes tougher. I wonder how much confidence Monty will have to deploy Biz at the 4 when we run into the bigger lineups in the playoffs. It’s looked good in limited minutes.

His high pitched voice bothers me, so I feel like he talks too much and tries to over explain things.

Yet another former Spur with an annoying voice. Part of the Avery Johnson club.

So, at half time, the Suns were up by 8. Isiah Thomas being the basketball savant that he is predicts that the Pelicans will take the lead going into the 4th quarter. Suns were up 13 after 3. Suns outscored the Pelicans in every quarter tonight.

I keep forgetting to mention that Book has become an expert at jumping the passing lanes recently. He had another nice passing lane steal tonight. Seems like ever since he came back from Covid protocols I’ve really noticed it.

Nice win. It's good to see them want revenge on the Pels after that last loss. Really nice balanced effort with six guys scoring in double-figures. I thought Mikal played awesome; scored 20 points and played great defense on McCollum. JaVale was awesome, too. It seemed like he was just always in the right place. Got a lot of little interior passes that he put in, or finished alley-oops, or cleaned up missed shots. He was everywhere. Great game for him, had me pumping my fist. Shamet was only 2-7 but he had a few stretches I liked where he'd miss a shot, get the ball back, shoot again, and make it.
For the Pels, I thought Jackson Hayes did surprisingly well against us. He's just so long and springy and athletic, got over us for some rebounds and sloppy baskets. And Valanciunas always plays really against us, too. 17 and 12. McCollum seemed to be slowed down by being in Mikal Jail.

He started it right before the all star break…had 3 steals each in the two games before. In his last 9 games he has 24 steals. He had that 6 steal game against the Thunder when as a team we had like 15 steals.

That move by DA from 2 feet inside the 3 point line and took it to the hoop. It was awesome to see. A single dribble from a stand still and it got him to the rim with little to no contest. That is open for him about 8 times a game, and I can only remember him doing it twice, ever. I hope he finds the confidence to do that more.

It feels like Chris challenged (or bet) him about it.

I've shared the stats but this is even crazier to me

Cam not take a shot in a whole quarter ?!?
Wouldn't have bet on that lol so like I keep stressing - his transitioning from Sparkplug to "Point guard" is commendable

I don't know what his convos were like with CP3 when he was out but he's really getting ridiculous mirroring the stats and now even play style ?

Ya Cam was 5/6 from the field with 14 points, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 2 turnovers. Really a phenomenal game.
