Galli to the hawks for 20M/year over 3 years.
Glad he won't be a Sun.
On that we can agree.
Not as absurd as some of the deals signed but I wouldn't want Gallo for 20M per.

Get that money
This is why PHX had to keep the Kaminsky-Okobo-Diallo trash contracts. This could be PHX adding Woods in a sign and trade for a protected 1stR. Boom. Offseason 75% done, then you can look at PG/SG and SF/PF with MLE and BE. But not, Sarver just had to save those sweet 7M after trading for Paul.
Anyway, this is the best contract of the offseason so far.

The plot thickens?
Who wants to pay him? and I know I am running on no sleep today, but why did they have to sign people to do a 'sign and trade" for a guy they currently have under contract? What am I missing?
Blake Griffin has crossed my mind under a win now all-in mindset for PHX. A sign and trade with Saric/Baynes is doable. Griffin expires at the same time Paul does.

Airplane mode to Portland
Nice little move here for PDX.

Here's a stretch big who could be available.
Makes little sense but then again, neither does almost anything DET has done this offseason.

Denver 'matched' Pistons offer.
Don't ask, just match. You are a contender. Can't afford to lose important pieces like that.
Edit: I see a post saying DEN matched, but the tweet doesn't load. Is it true?

That’s a lot for Marcus Morris
I think that seems fair for him.
Too much but they needed to keep him, especially after losing Harrell.

Maybe no suns news is good news with some of these deals being handed out.
Exactly. But Woods on a terrific contract was there for the taking.

Interesting first few hours of free agency...some deals seem kinda crazy whereas others you kinda scratch your head and think, "we didn't/couldn't offer that?". I wasn't so hot for guys like Burks, Wood, Holiday or Green but considering their deals we probably could've made similar or better offers. Maybe it came down to opportunity or connections like Burks going to NY with Jazz people there or Wood getting a better opportunity with Houston. Maybe they just weren't on Jones' radar or he's waiting for things to really shake out.
Still some names out there I like more than some of the ones who were signed, like Crowder, so we'll see. Just hoping we spend what money we do have the right way and aren't just cheaping out while good players go elsewhere on good deals.

Seeing this with Crowder has me thinking we're maybe only offering two year deals in line with Paul's contract so we clear a bunch of salary at the same time.

Harkless was someone I'd have liked to have seen us add as a 3/4. Not a great shooter, probably a better fit in Miami. This might mean Crowder doesn't return to the Heat tho?

Ugh, that’s good value.
Some nights it will be, some nights (too many) it won't be. Holliday has a lot of games where he plays like 20 minutes and scores 3 points.

At this point, I wouldn’t be mad if we gave Augustin the MLE.
I would. Don't let other teams' stupidity justify our own. Greatness usually means that you're in rare company. Be the minority in making smart decisions. No need to follow the crowd.
