Totally reasonable and in no way an indictment on Ayton for a team trying to make the playoffs to come to the conclusion that they’re better off giving minutes to… Hansen Yang?
Of course y’all turn it into a negative when the truth is actually the opposite, per Shams:
Ayton and his representatives approached the Blazers about a buyout and Ayton wanting to play in a winning situation, sources said.

A buyout is not a good thing though..it means there was zero market for him at his price range. Will be interesting to see what Portland is willing to pay him to not play for them…or how much Ayton was willing to give up.

And it absolutely means Portland didn’t want him. Otherwise they would have just told him no when he asked for a buyout…they were happy to let him go

That is also speculation. Perhaps the Blazers did not want to return that amount of salary in a trade. The Suns would have been better off buying him out than the return we got. We would have still had Camara.

Paying Ayton max money to play for someone else for 3 years would not have been good

Marks says 8-10 million on the buyout because that’s probably what his market is. That’s a decent savings for Portland. But also means they would have gladly traded him for Nurkic back as it would save them basically double the buyout.
So Nurk has more value than Ayton still, right?

At some point you’ll need to see that fault also lies with Ayton.

Just like KD, never done anything wrong in his life. It's always someone else's fault.

He’s in some good company apparently
Suns wouldn’t trade Beal for him?

It's really hard to trade a $52M player with this CBA, not to mention one who's 40 years old with a NTC.
I think the Suns would trade Beal for LeBron in a heartbeat, but why would the Lakers do that?

If LeBron demands a trade, they might.

The Lakers would only consider doing that if Lebron and his agent demanded it. And probably not even then. And they won't demand that, so it doesn't matter.

Let me know when the Lakers agree to a buyout

That seems like spin..I don’t buy that for a second. If he agreed to stay it was because the team presented a plan to improve and that meant ditching Lillard. He’s just making sure Dame doesn’t think he was in on it.

Crazy about the Lillard waiving. I'm not a cap expert, but couldn't he possibly sign here for the vet min for a year, and then we could resign him next year to a longer term deal? Seems like such a low-risk high-reward kind of move for a team.
Denver is having a really good off season.

He could sign for the minimum, but without space or an exception, we wouldn’t have bird rights or early bird rights to give him much or a raise…but if we get out of the 2nd apron, options would be there.
I wouldn’t mind bringing him in on a vet min to rehab

Saric is one of my all-time favorite mediocre Suns. I would genuinely like to have him back even though I don't think he solves any long term problems.

He is fundamentally sound. Just can't jump over a piece of paper anymore.
