Jones says one reason he "knew" Jalen was right for us was how competitive he was, how willing he was to learn, and his desire to get better. So, blah blah blah. I hope all of it is true and he is better than the 10th best player from this draft.
Picking the 10th best player in the draft at #10 isn't terrible.
I think Smith at 10 makes more sense than Cam at 11 did. However, the 2020 draft was deeper than 2019. I think Tyrese Haliburton, Aaron Nesmith, Aleksej Pokusevski, Precious Achiuwa, and maybe Saddiq Bey have a shot at being better than Smith.
Agreed. I think that is a fine draft. Of course, it looks worse if 5 of the 10 better players were taken after you.
I know it is only 2 pre-season games, but I have been impressed with his lack of being in awe of just being out there. He looks like he belongs on the court, and doesn't look lost.

The Phoenix Suns Arena, the temporary name after Talking Stick Resort did not renew its naming rights, will have its new look debut on Wednesday in preseason action against the Los Angeles Lakers, albeit with no fans for the foreseeable future.

I only skimmed the sections, but aren't those headings things you expect from year 1 of a #1 pick at Center?

And should we just call it "The house that Jerry built and Bob renovated with tax payer dollars" instead of "Phoenix Suns Arena?"

Oh, good. So glad the name is changing. Can’t get much worse than Talking Stick Resort Arena, can it?

I always wondered if it was just advert guys doing funny math justifying how much money a company makes every time someone just hears their name mentioned in one of these naming rights deals. I never heard TSRA and decided I wanted to go to Talking Stick Resort. Maybe that was because their commercials were sooooo effing annoying. Also, I guess they get completely free commercial time if they sponsor the area, right?

He's been pretty decent so far. James Jones seems to be pretty good at drafting "B-" role players with mid-first-round picks. He may not nail every pick, but he seems to have a good instinct about attributes to look for in players to draft. I think that's going to be useful since we may have 2-3 of our star core players for the next few years and will need solid role players around them. Jones might not be the guy to draft future stars, though, so he might or might not be a great GM for a full rebuild someday when the cupboard of talent is bare.

Anyone seen the new commercials for the suns pre/post game sponsors Sweet James? They are on during the broadcasts. It resembles a phone sex commercial. How could they approve this???

I love everything about them except the numbers. That font is awful and doesn't fit the rest of it. And yes, I realize they needed to pull something from that era, but ugh.

Yeah, the numbers just don't fit with the font of the name, imo. Makes it look weird.

Math doesn't check out on that. Not even close, really.
