I saw “Luca Doncic” in a mock yesterday. Wish I could remember where.

ETA: Found it. https://www.landof10.com/big-ten/2018-n ... der-may-31
Not quite so scathing. Unless luca means something special in Slovenian.
Yeah, guess it’s not quite as scathing as suggesting that Mohammed is the Bomba.

If Bomba ever lands on the Lakers or Clippers, do they play Ritchie Valens on the loudspeaker during games?
The song is actually La Bamba, so it wouldn’t surprise me to hear it used whether he winds up in LA or not.

So you're saying it would work with the Pelicans too then.

https://twitter.com/MichaelJLev/status/1002320723858227200 I'd really love to know if he truly believes this or if he's just talking up his former player because it benefits him to have a guy go #1. If he truly believes it, I'd love to hear why he thinks there is nobody like Ayton. I've heard him say something similar to this multiple times, has anyone ever asked him to explain why he thinks that?

Here's a good article that has more than just that quote.

http://arizonasports.com/story/1539464/ ... of-player/
“He’s the most talented and best player that we’ve had in the nine years that I’ve been the head coach at Arizona,” Miller said on the The Outlet podcast on Wednesday. “We’ve had so many good players that when I make that statement I make it because there’s a separation between Deandre and everybody else.”
“I just don’t know if you have very many players, especially considering he’s only 19 years old, that check all the boxes at the level he does,” Miller added. “Especially the first one which is just his physical superiority.”
Ayton dominated in his only season in Tucson, averaging 20.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.9 blocks in 33.5 minutes per game.

But playing man-to-man defense at the power forward position alongside fellow 7-footer Dusan Ristic at center, Ayton was forced to cover true college forwards along the perimeter, which raised questions among scouts about his defensive ability at the rim.

While Ayton may have shown a lack of ability to keep up in fast-paced defensive situations, his footwork made up for it. A trait that Miller said improved greatly during his time at Arizona.

“His ability to switch and do some things that not many people his size can do, you can see it with your own two eyes,” Miller said. “He also progressed quite a bit in the year he was here and I think that will only help him in his transition from college to the NBA.”

Whether Ayton will have his name called first on draft night remains to be seen, but if one thing is certain, Suns general manager Ryan McDonough has arguably one of the toughest tasks ahead.

“I can’t say one negative thing about Deandre,” Miller said. “Whether you ask me about his personality, his work ethic, his natural ability, he is an amazing kid.”

Miller's or DeAndre's?

I don't think I have seen anyone advocate Doncic as the way to beat the Warriors. Honestly, by the time the Suns are contending, we'll probably be talking about how to beat Milwaukee or Boston.
What about Philly ?

Simmons and Embiid will be a problem for a while.

Maybe INF knows something (many things) we all don't know and he's trying to let us know subtly.

We'll see with Philly. Embiid's health is so precarious. And now with the whole BC scandal, maybe that hurts their ability to attract a major free agent.

On completely different point, I really hope LeBron doesn't go there. I really like what Philly is building and I would hate for it to get hijacked by the LeBron show.

I’m starting to suspect that he remains in Cleveland one more year, sees what up and coming team’s situation develops better and only then present himself as the missing piece. Sixers are not that obvious choice once you consider that Simmons needs the ball in his hands or is useless and Embiid is still an enigma healthwise. Lakers are still a work in progress so Lebron is better keeping them at bay for another year and see what they do. Not sure if any other team besides New York (a huge mess currently, so no point on going there next... perhaps never) offers the flair/background history necessary for him to join them and therefore bailing one more time on his hometown. Perhaps the Chris Paul connection could justify it (sell it), either going to Houston or somewhere else.

I would hope that with the right moves made this off-season through draft and trades that LeBron would see Phoenix as a good fit. Say that they pick Ayton(most likely outcome) and are able to maneuver to get enough dirt workers and shooters along with cap space that he sees James Jones, Kokoskov, Booker, Ayton, Jackson, Warren, Chriss, & Bender as a young group he could come to, fit in perfectly and turn around quickly with the possibility of going from worst to first continues to build his legacy. They could possibly have the near exact mix that would entice him at this stage of his career. (Young hungry not afraid of the moment sg with improved ball handling and passing abilities in Booker, a couple of young sfs, one being a possible up & coming all-star two way player in Jackson, another being a good candidate for the bench in an opportunistic, low usage scorer in Warren, two young inexperienced but underlying talented pfs in Bender and Chriss who have the makings of decent outside shooters and switching defenders, and a low post presence he hasn't had, but could use in a series against the Houston, GSW and the like). Seems all they need is a decent pg to relive LeBron from having to play facilitator the entire game and allow him to play off the ball.

If NO could maneuver it, LeBron would be a great fit there, with or without a healthy Cousins. They could use some decent depth though, which I suppose is easy enough when you have a guy that vets will come to for the minimum.
Rondo
Jrue
LeBron
Mirotic
Davis

Another, although I like this team a whole lot less, would be Utah.

I keep looking at the top 10 and wishing for a couple more picks. So many of them look like future stars, or at least difference makers.

To balance that enthusiasm, I try to remind myself that about half of the top 10 in any given draft are huge disappointments.

Jut look at how great Len seemed in his Draft Express video.

I still think that Len can be a very good back up center. I'm not sure that's what he's looking for though. He's probably trying to get paid at this point. He needs a good facilitator to help him get easy buckets. I don't remember him being a good match(or anyone else) with Knight.
