The price they paid for him is ridiculous, but I think the Knicks bringing in Bridges is tremendous. There are a lot of intangibles there, reuniting him with Brunson and DiVencenzo. The Knicks are really solidifying an identity that is going to resemble what we've seen from the Heat during the Jimmy Butler area. And while I don't know about drafting Diadet, coming away with Kolek and McCullar is really strong. The Knicks are positioning themselves nicely. The 5 spot might be problematic with Hartenstein potentially leaving, but Jericho Sims may be able to grow into the solution.

With all of that said, the Anunoby contract is going to be one of the worst contracts in the league.
Thibs running Brunson (played an insane amount of minutes in the playoffs) and Bridges (a guy who refuses to miss games) into the ground would be a real worry for me.
Go Suns!

I think Mikal has evolved past the role player label. Brunson is certainly no role player. Anunoby is the only guy I would call a role player, but the league and media has always overrated him.

If the Suns finish 11th I'll never post here again.
I would not like that! Please stay.
Suns aren't finishing 11th in the West. You have nothing to worry about.

You guys started it by posting our current roster and then talking about just plugging in Kris Dunn. We are so far off from being a competitive team.

Barring a major change, we are going to end up out of the play in. Sounds like you're scared to be wrong.
I'm never scared of being wrong here, which should be pretty obvious with how often I am wrong.

I didn't post roster related projections. My commentary started with your claim of all those teams doing something to get better than the Suns on June 28th.

Now you want to put in stipulations about what can happen in the future to hedge your original claim when my initial comment was highlighting exactly those unknown future scenarios.

So if you want to stick to the bet as I perceived it, the Suns will finish behind all of those other teams based on the current roster today, then lets do it. If not, then you're speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
Isn't that what I'm saying? If our roster is mostly set, we're finishing outside the play-in. It's going to take a major change to get us into the playoffs

Obviously if we make a substantial trade, then that would change things. Substantial to me would be trading one of our top 6 players (mid 3, Allen, Royce, Nurk)
That comment came after our initial interaction. You walked back the hot take.

I can accept breaking up tHe mId tHrEe as a substantial change. Trying to call the bet off if they somehow swapped Nurk for Jonas, for example, would be lame. Same for Allen and Royce, they're role players.

Well to me trading Royce, Grayson or Nurk is a big change in the rotation as these guys are all gonna see +25-30 mpg and have a major role for our team. And I'm fully expecting us to run it back with them and just add minimum players to trot out basically the same core rotation next year. This will result in an 11th seed.

We're not trading Nurk for Jonas. It's basically the same player.

The team didn’t click with Vogel, that much is clear. I do not think it results in an 11-seed. I believe we will be in the top half of the West and probably a 4 or 5-seed.

Obi Toppin 4/60 is great deal for the Pacers.

He'll be traded by the trading deadline.

I think he still wants a championship.

Is it me or has this been the slowest FA cycle in a long time? Is it the second rounders or everyone holding their breath until PG13 domino falls?

I think it’s a combo of things, but I’d say new cap restrictions and tampering penalties are at the top

Why is Mori going rogue and posting Free Agency updates outside of the Free Agency thread?

I hope Ishbia isn't having buyers remorse. Boston is the winningest franchise in NBA history and much closer to his home state of Michigan. Of course, they'll probably go for close to twice as much.
