That was my thought too....almost treat this year as a redshirt year for Maluach and let him work on his game, maybe even in the G League where he can get a ton of minutes. Richards is perfectly fine as a 15-20 minute a night backup, especially for his salary. I mean unless a team is willing to give up a first for him, then see ya later Richards.ShelC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 12:39 pmI don't know why he's listing Green, Brooks or Brea like they're so much bigger than we currently have on the wing.
And I don't know....I kind of like Richards and think it'd be smart to keep him around. Great size and athleticism, would be a really solid backup for us if Maluach isn't ready and he's cheap. I could also see him maybe having more value in-season if a team needs size or loses their big to an injury.
I agree with you guys. Richards had his frustrating moments but also his solid ones. I liked that he tried to attack the rim but it was a little frustrating when he'd lose the ball. Not sure he has great hands.BigLewy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 12:44 pmThat was my thought too....almost treat this year as a redshirt year for Maluach and let him work on his game, maybe even in the G League where he can get a ton of minutes. That's a good point. You've changed my mind. Assuming Williams is healthy enough to play. Which could be an issue since he's averaged more games not playing than playing by a pretty good margin. Which starts leaning me back the other way again as I talk it out.
Hallelujah!
They gave him so many opportunities and he crapped the bed so many times.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:58 pmHallelujah!
Most people blame KD and Beal for the malaise of this team over the past two seasons, and that's mostly fair. But this guy was a prime example nearly every damn night and it drove me crazy how many fans wanted a bigger role handed to him.
Nice guy, not a nice NBA player.
He was just never interested in bringing any intensity on the defensive end. If he were to do that, he would become much more valuable as an NBA player rather than an oddity.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:04 pmThey gave him so many opportunities and he crapped the bed so many times.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:58 pmHallelujah!

Well, the last couple of years they've gone stretches with players like Josh Okogie (6'4") and Grayson Allen (6'4") starting at SF.ShelC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 12:39 pmI don't know why he's listing Green, Brooks or Brea like they're so much bigger than we currently have on the wing.
