It's preposterous that Sarver said he expects the team to play .500 ball this season. Absolutely no one would have projected us to win half of our games this year.

I just worry that the wrong expectations will cause pressure on McDo to go trade some important assets like picks for win-now veterans who don't fit our goals.

Is that a mistake. Did you mean to put Watson with Atkinson and Fizdale?
Not at all. I really like the job they are doing and was wondering if there is another respected assistant coach around that could be hired to replace Watson.

This team doesn't need another young or first time head coach to "grow with them". We need someone established, who knows how to be a head coach and has been successful. Someone who will command respect from the start and bring some discipline on the court. That's what young players need. Right now, all they know is losing.

To me, the biggest issue with this historically embarrassing start to the season is that it is going to undermine the trade value of a lot of the assets on our roster. Watson does SUCH a bad job of putting players in spots that they can succeed. That is why I think showing him the door is our most pressing concern.

It is very easy to point at the Brandon Knight trade as the worst transaction of the McDo era. I think that hiring Watson without even interviewing any other candidates might actually equal or even exceed the BK trade in terms of gross misconduct. At least the BK trade had a defensible rationale behind it. There was NO defensible reason for only interviewing a single coaching candidate.

Bad Owner? Check.
Bad GM? Check.
Bad Head Coach? Check.
Bad roster? Check.

Judging by the empty seats and the cheering for opponents, perhaps we should add bad fans to the list.

But we have one of the best radio play-by-play men in the league. I guess that's something.

I agree, and some of us *cough cough* screamed so at the time. Others said, "Well, why do interviews when we already have a good candidate in-house and they already know they're going to hire him?" This was ridiculous logic, obvious at the time and even more obvious in hindsight.

Dear Sarver:

- Don't hire a too-young former player with no experience as head coach.
- Don't hire a head coach without doing a thorough search and conducting proper interviews.
- Don't go cheap on your coaching hires; paying one of the lowest in the NBA is not how you'll get good talent knocking on your door.

This stuff is so obvious. Sarver really doesn't know what he is doing.

I'd say both together but moreso $arver. Yet again a huge mistake that will haunt the franchise for a long time.

I agree that when I heard that I knew Sarver was delusional. I think he really believed it too. I wonder what he is thinking now?

Bingo! (Sorry, had to listen to Ralph Lawler last night on the Clippers broadcast. I wanted to punch him through the screen one time when the Suns were down 30 plus and the Clips hit a 3 and he did his exaggerated version... BBBBIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGOOOOOOOO!!! Man, did it make me mad.)

Fire Sarver! Don't forget that Hornacek also didn't have any real coaching experience prior to his hire.

i wasn't able to watch last season but the word was: the Suns were better than their record, Bledsoe had his best year, Booker might become a superstar, Chris and/or Bender could breakout.

We added one of the top draft pics, We lost little, and the coach is the same.

Can someone tell me what happened?
What are you seeing now that you didn't see 6 months ago and what might explain it?
