Fuck harden. I've probably never seen a player in any sport that I hate watching MORE. He makes a complete mockery of the game with his antics (sure, the refs fall for them but I absolutely hate it). I would love if an opponent just leveled him one time to get their money's worth on a bullshit foul. I don't regret not making that trade one bit. I'd rather lose for 50 years.INFORMER wrote:Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Suns are better off. I guess he would have just destroyed this franchise, oh wait.
We didn't need his help.
There are about a 1000 paths the Suns could have taken that would have been significantly better than what has played out the last 8 years. Trading for Harden would have been one of them. It's just not one I would have personally preferred. I get a front row seat to the Harden Show, and there isn't a part of me that is envious. Just being honest.

Wish we could trade for Brogdon, even injured Brogdon. One of our less good 1st rounders? Give Milwaukee their own pick back for him?
Re: Around the League: Week 16 1/29-2/4
Yes sir. But I think Alan Williams is a very similar player. I'm eager to see how he bounces back from his injury.carey wrote:Hey INFO, weren't you a big Jarnell Stokes fan? He just left his Chinese team with a minor foot issue. He averaged 25 & 14 over there. Just turned 24.

The problem is two fold. Lue's not a good coach but LeBron won't let anyone coach him which means the coach can't really "coach" the rest of the team. So unless he's playing for a guy with say, Phil Jackson or Pat Riley or Pop's stature, his teams are always going to have this issue.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 1/29-2/4
There's no point to firing Lue at this point in the season. They can't bring in a better coach and have any time to instill a new system in the next 2 months. They have to just roll with the guys they have.

You're not wrong. If you haven't heard Raja Bell talk about it before...ShelC wrote:The problem is two fold. If you decide not to add players of James Harden's quality to your roster you are insuring that you are not serious about winning basketball games. Just as I laugh at those that did not want Kobe Bryant to ever become a Phoneix Sun. Whether you like them or not they are both winners. Sometimes you cannot create the perfect human being that also is a great basketball player. That is a pretty rare individual. Even Nash reportedly is not perfect, off the court. I do not really like some of the antics that Harden pulls on the court but it must be within the rules. I never liked Kobe at all but if he would have become a Phoenix Sun I expect I would have loved him.specialsauce wrote:f*** harden. I like James Harden because he made Arizona State Basketball watchable and he was the entire show. That ASU team without him was horrible. I really have never been surprised by his success in the NBA. My only concern was whether or not he was athletic enough. He worked on his body and he really is a fantastic player whether you like him or not. That certainly is your choice and I expect you have plenty of company on your side of the argument.
I also remember those saying that MDA would not be able to coach Harden. Then they said he could not coach Paul and Harden. I really do not like either of those guys and I really have disliked Chris Paul forever. However he and Harden are loving life in Houston these days.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

Don’t care. I can’t cheer for him. “If you don’t stand by your principles when the stakes are at it’s highest, then you don’t have principles, just opinions”
... so yeah, I’m not disappointed if lacking on the team guys as egomaniac as Lebron, wife beaters as Kidd or rapist on the loose (ok, ok, alleged ones) like Kobe prevented us from going all the way to the Top. Championship rings shouldn’t be a blank check to relieve someone from acting like a decent human being.
Of course people have character flaws all over them, but there are limits that must be respected. And of course, within the law, everyone is free to set their own.

The Celtics have only 5 players not on rookie contracts on their roster: Hayward, Horford, Irving, Morris and Baynes. They really have no business being as good as they are.

It is amazing what you can do when you:Hermen wrote:The Celtics have only 5 players not on rookie contracts on their roster: Hayward, Horford, Irving, Morris and Baynes. They really have no business being as good as they are.
A) Draft well
B) Coach well
C) Make good trades
You know, when you have a GM and owner that are good at their jobs.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 1/29-2/4
Idk what each Suns fans criteria is on who the Suns should or shouldn't pursue. It seems like it's arbitrary and differs from fan to fan. I think the Suns should put the best team together to win the title, not put the nicest guys together and hope the win, because that fits everyone's criteria of "winning the right way." Now that doesn't mean you have to lower your standards in order to put truly distainable people, such as child molesters, murders, theives, and drug dealers on the team.

And Horford is really underrated.

Look, dude. I would like him a lot better in another uniform. I think he's a center in today's NBA, and he's very clever when he is involved mentally. I wouldn't mind picking him up this offseason if we have a roster spot for him.ShelC wrote:I'll also say this, I really like Julius Randle.

All comes down to your definition. I know those were just examples, but saying that thieves and drug dealers shouldn't be on the team, but wife beaters and sexual predators should (if they are the good players), makes no sense to me.In2ition wrote:Idk what each Suns fans criteria is on who the Suns should or shouldn't pursue.
