It's even worse. Sounds like they were going to force him into taking Thibs & Kidd(who they interviewed for HC) as assistants, only wanted to give him 3 yrs, and the deciding opposition were Kurt and Linda Rambis. Seriously, why do they have any say?

Why would they fire Mike D? They had another successful season. If they could keep Harden from gaining 15 lbs every summer, they would be the 1 seed in the West every year.

That isn't their problem. Their problem is they have a top 5 player on the planet, but the next best player on the team is a 33 year old PG way on the down side of his career, and after that nobody is even close to being in consideration for the hall of fame. Gerald Green played nearly 1500 minutes for them this year. Their "great" young center can't play in the playoffs and they are stuck with PJ Tucker playing 20% of his time at Center.

The team on the other side has 5 likely HOF members playing together.

The Rockets screwed themselves by going all in on CP3 with his most recent contract because then they went out and tried to find bargain role players.

They were lucky Austin Rivers was available to be signed mid season. Think about that.
