I'm not a Mavs fan or resident of Dallas, TX, but I agree with everything you said.

AD is top 10-15 talent. Luka is top 5. AD is 6 years older. Luka is now and the future, and you just got to the finals.

But the Mavs organization deserves A LOT of blame because Luka is well worth the supermax,....... and they "didn't" think he was worth it.

What’s wrong with the trade? You try to stay in win-now mode with Butler, you get a younger player in Kuminga, plus you get the multiple firsts for the future. Oh, plus you get JV for Nurk instead of having to give up a first to dump him (and JV makes half of Nurk’s salary).

I doubt we’ll get anything better for KD in the summer.

They need to make a trade with Houston where they at least get the Suns pick this year, with the caveat that you pay to play.
