Second Round: San Antonio Spurs (1) vs. Portland Blazers (5)

Post by Mori Chu »

Didn't get a message up before Game 1 of this series, but this one has the potential to be one of the best series of the second round. I think the Spurs will roll over the Blazers, myself. Not enough experience on that PDX roster at this level of the playoffs.

I'm wondering if Dallas is that much better than Portland or Dallas matched up better with SA or the Spurs are just playing that much better this round.

Portland is a really young team. It's easy to forget that Lillard is only a second-year player.

It's funnier to watch the Spurs do their thing, when it happens against a team that is not the Suns.

They're just dominating. I can't tell how much of it is Portland being outclassed, and how much of it is the Spurs awakening from their slumber by that 7-game scare against Dallas. But boy do the Spurs look sharp right now.

The same way they extract value out of basically everything they get. Almost everything they do now is based on bball IQ and fundamentals, and Diaw is outstanding in that regard. Playing alongside his bff and under Pop probably helps with motivation and focus.
