Game Day: Raptors (35-30) @ Suns (53-13), Fri 3/11/22

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

Suns come home for a two game home stand. Raptors on Friday and the Lakers on Sunday. Cam Johnson remains out. Rumor is that the Raptor’s mascot is making the trip and has purchased seats behind the Suns’ second half basket. I’m also told that the Gorilla will be ready for him.

Not a sharp start, giving up lot of ORs so far. The Raps are mixing up their defense and using their length to disrupt our offense and create some TOs. We shouldn't just rely on jumpers, need to get some of those swings in foul trouble to get them off the floor. Book's running with the 2nd unit of Holiday, Shamet, Craig and McGee but it's been a little rough. Not much shot creation with that unit. Book's been looking to set up teammates to start the games but we need his offense just the same.

Again with the rebounding - Toronto already had 8 offensive rebounds before halftime.

Don't the Suns remember the first game against Toronto ? Crash the boards. Biyombo has to play some minutes tonight. Stay big and be aggressive.

Refs are really on something tonight. A bunch of soft calls on the Suns, Raps getting away with a lot of contact then the refs call Ts on Jae and Cam. Maybe this lights a fire.

Crowder lost his composure and didn’t get back there. Turned into a 5 point trip for the raptors.

And a second straight 5 point possession for the Raps. Not sure I’ve ever seen that.

Feels like this one is slipping away. Let them go in a 12-0 run after bringing it back to a tie.

Wow Biz coming in and changing the game on both ends. Monty went big with Biz and JaVale and then kept Biz in with DA and it's made all the difference.

The refs are a joke tonight but we're pushing thru, albeit with some Ts along the way.
