Well, folks. It's finally here. Our first preseason game with the newly coached, new look Suns on new television home, AZ Family 3TV. Also, newly coached, the Detroit Pistons courtesy of recent former Phoenix Suns' coach, Monty Williams. The big three not scheduled to play too much with an emphasis at getting a look at the entire roster. Let's start seeing what we have! (The game is a little over 24 hours away. Early noon start time.)

I’m curious to see who they decide to go with as the 5th starter tomorrow. Preseason or not, I’m stoked to finally watch this team play together.

With the starters/Big 3 seeing limited minutes, it'll be good to see what the other new guys bring. I'd imagine Goodwin and Lee see the minutes at PG with Goodwin the focus there. We'll see what Allen, KBD and Yuta have, plus Eubanks. KBD had his thumb wrapped so hopefully that doesn't limit him. Pistons have some big bodies up front Monty will be taking a look at so not sure how we'll match up there.

He got dinged up in Summer League too, didn’t he? Hope he’s not on his way to one of those seasons where he never has a chance because he’s always fighting some little injury.

What new (to the Suns) players are you all most excited to watch today? I think for me I'm excited for almost all the new phases, but my top ones are roughly this order:

Yuta
KBD

Crazy deep. There are going to be players who deserve playing time but will get relegated to third string because of the numbers crunch. And that’s going to be hard, especially considering that most of these guys are in contract years.

Im mostly interested to see who will fit best as the 5th guy. And I don’t think it’s Okogie. Need someone they can’t just leave open and dare to shoot in the playoffs

Didn’t mention Metu or Bol either…but they probably aren’t in the rotation.

I also imagine we might rest players from time to time and have injuries. Not likely all 12 will be healthy. But if they are I imagine one of Goodwin/Okogie is on the bench…Other 3rd string spot feels like maybe Little for now, but I bet he moves his way up into the rotation. Not sure who’s spot he takes.

Crazy that some of the same guys are in the discussions for “fifth starter” and “third string.”

I wonder if we’ll have to ship out some of the excess depth at some point. I can’t imagine any of those guys being happy about being relegated to third string in a contract year. They know they can play and need to show it.

I was looking forward to seeing Goodwin and seeing whether he could actually be a pg for us. I also want to see how Gordon plays with the rest of the team. And of course, excited to see Beal.
