Sure, after signing him to that monster of a contract?Ring_Wanted wrote:https://twitter.com/jonbloom/status/490225591040241664
Can't we just take back Nash to retire here and call it a day?

Serious - I can totally see the Suns making that move. Makes more sense than retaining Randolph, for sure.Phoenix219 wrote:man, don't even put ideas in my head.... .i put that to rest years ago.SwingMan wrote: For the record, I hope you stick around, 219 - especially when we snag The Matrix at vet minimum for 3/4 insurance later on this off-season.

I bet other teams would be willing to offer more.... I'd honestly be surprised; We haven't been into signing veterans since Jermaine O'Neal. It really could be a great fit if everyone was on the same page, though. Is it about money, playing time, or contending?

So, Sign and Trade to the Lakers? Think there is any truth to that one? Or play hardball and try to keep Bledsoe at reasonable rate?
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I hope there's truth to it 219 tbh. Us and his agent are so far apart we need to figure how to get something for him.Phoenix219 wrote:So, Sign and Trade to the Lakers? Think there is any truth to that one? Or play hardball and try to keep Bledsoe at reasonable rate?
carey, whats your take on this one? you know no one wants you gone.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I wonder who leaked Bledsoe's supposed demands? I definitely don't want to take the chance of losing Dragic over this, so if we can get a good bunch of assets without having to commit to that kind of extended money, I'll be extremely happy.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
if the lakers wanted bledsoe, he's there to be had. and it might not even take a max contract to do it.iLLmatic wrote:How legit is this guys sources?Ring_Wanted wrote:https://twitter.com/jonbloom/status/490225591040241664

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Do we want Jordan Hill at 2 years, $18M? I'd honestly prefer to get Nash as an expiring contract, let him retire with a Heroes welcome playing spot minutes off the bench, leaving us cap space to work with next year.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
can jordan hill defend centers? if the suns get nash, we'll have dragic, IT, nash, ennis. #smallballforeverPhoenix219 wrote:Do we want Jordan Hill at 2 years, $18M? Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I thought I read somewhere that most, if not all, of Hill's salary next year is unguaranteed, sort of like how we structured the Tolliver deal. So it might not be as bad as initially feared. If it's actually fully guaranteed, then forget it.Phoenix219 wrote:Do we want Jordan Hill at 2 years, $18M? Shades of KJ/Kidd/Nash... I would love it. All would be right with the world. Can I have two wishes? Please Mr. McD?!SDC wrote:can jordan hill defend centers? if the suns get nash, we'll have dragic, IT, nash, ennis. #smallballforeverPhoenix219 wrote:Do we want Jordan Hill at 2 years, $18M? For that playoff run against the Spurs I think.

I'd do that trade in the blink of an eye if I were Phoenix, Randle is going to be a really good PFSDC wrote:if the lakers wanted bledsoe, he's there to be had. and it might not even take a max contract to do it.iLLmatic wrote:How legit is this guys sources?Ring_Wanted wrote:https://twitter.com/jonbloom/status/490225591040241664

Yeah, great asset building regardless of what cap filler we get for sending out a resigned Bledsoe.
Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)
Nostalgia and great memories aside, when it comes to 2014 Steve Nash, the Lakers and theirf ans REALLY want to be rid of him and his contract. We shouldn't trade with them and take Nash unless they are giving us some really good assets to go with him.
The best thing about trading Bledsoe to the Lakers would be that he would probably help boost them up enough that their pick would not be in the top 1-5 picks. That would mean that it conveys to us. As currently constructed they may well be a bottom-5 team.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)
Well I just figure an expiring contract would be better then locked into Jordan Hill for two years, and we're still squeezing basically 2 first round picks out of them for Bledsoe. I think it would mean a lot to the average fanbase and would be worth it to allow Nash to retire here in Phoenix. Randle and another first, plus all the cap space we'd get next year, combined with the personal nostalgia, make it a no brainer for me.
Sign Matrix to a small contract to back up the 3/4 spot, and it would be a nice, classy connection to all of the Suns history, Hornacek era, Nash era, and now. Not to mention it would be the feel good story of the year, after Lebron of course.
Plus, it would be hilarious that we got picks for sending him, and then would be getting more picks for taking him back. It would be troll material vs Lakers fans for ages.
