I haven't seen it yet, but I heard its Kevin Ware-ish. If so I don't think I'll wait for a replay. Anyone who saw it care to elaborate?
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

I just saw the replay in slomo. That looked like Kevin Ware's injury. I could see bone. I don't think we'll see Paul George next season.

Real shame. I wish the guy the best.

George was running back on defense and jumped with the play, falling backwards out of bounds. He landed off balance and jammed his foot/lower leg between the floor and the backstop of the basket while he kept falling backwards. So his lower leg snapped 90 degrees.

It was horrific. I can't see him playing at all next season, and it's hard to imagine him being the same player again. Very sad.

Too bad for George. I was really looking forward to see him play for the USA squad and now I wonder who will fill his role as the do-it-all wing player. I have a feeling he was the guy Coach K would throw at the other teams best offensive player on defense.

It was not the ankle, right? How is that even possible? My condolences to George.

I really dont know how you snap your lower leg in half like that. Freak accident where everything lines up right I guess. I hope FIBA moves to use NBA basket set ups

Paul George suffers severe leg injury during Team USA scrimm

Don't watch video of it if you're easily upset by injuries. It's pretty gruesome. It is in the Shaun Livingston, almost Kevin Ware, territory.

Man, the poor guy. While dudes like Lebron skip USA Basketball, George plays for his country. And he is even playing hard, playing D, getting back to try to stop a layup. Life can be cruel and unfair sometimes. I really feel for him and for the fans of the Pacers. :-(

This is a sad day.

IMO, to blame for the, is the horrible placing of the hoops, they really need the NBA style baskets

I mean, just look at this in comparison (distance from the court to the base of the basket)

the picture might be too wide for the site.

here is the link

If this was ab NBA regulation basket, this never would have happened.

I totally agree with this blog that it's time to rework the clutter behind the baskets and on the sidelines for the safety of the players.

Man, this is awful. You hate to see it happen to any athlete, let alone one of the best players at his position. Hustle defensive play in a scrimmage game, representing his country. He didn't deserve this.

I've watched the replay of the incident once and I don't ever plan to watch it again. I can't stomach it.
