Today, fly the flag and light a candle in remembrance.
If you meet an emergency responder (police officer, fire fighter, paramedic) or a serviceman, buy that person a cup of coffee or drink and say "thanks."

Sept. 11
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...
Re: Sept. 11
At that time I traveled quite a bit for work, all over North America, and was almost always thinking about when my next flight was. Being so far away from NYC that day, here in Phoenix, I still remember how eerie it felt to be driving on the I-10 near the airport and not see any flights in the air. Besides the astonishing images broadcast that morning before I left for work, that is what I remember most from that day. The eerie silence in the sky. That, and a friend of mine crying in the backseat of my car on our way to lunch, after he just found out that one of his close friends was unfortunately at work early that day in Tower 1.
