Coming back from achilles surgery. How many players recover from than fully? I am not sure any have.Split T wrote:JCSunsfan wrote:And why do we want Cousins?

Yes, we have picks that we could package with Chandler, Knight or Dudley that would help us clear enough to offer a max deal. #16 this year and the MIL pick. Plus all our own picks. I would be hesitant of offering Cousins a max deal but I do trust our medical guys if they sign off on him. The thing we have to ask is if we think Cousins can play with Ayton as it seems to be a sure thing that we're selecting him at this point. He shoots 36% from 3 on 6 attempts per game. Here's Cousins shot chart: http://nbasavant.com/player.php?player_id=202326 - Notice he took nearly as many 3's on the wing as he attempted shots at the basket with very little in between.Cap wrote:Is there any way we could clear enough cap room to make a run at Cousins? Would he be worth what it would cost? Doncic-Booker-Jackson-Bender-Cousins would be really impressive at four positions.

He looked really good with AD.Split T wrote:Zero interest in cousins if we take Ayton. They are both 5's for sure.

If we draft Doncic, we need a center, and a Cousins is one of the best.JCSunsfan wrote:And why do we want Cousins?
That's because AD is a freak. AD is elite at the 4 and the 5...interesting too though that NO went on a run when they moved AD to the 5.carey wrote:He looked really good with AD.Split T wrote:Zero interest in cousins if we take Ayton. They are both 5's for sure.
In part because Cousins doesn't defend, and in part because most of the good stuff Cousins does is redundant with AD. With AD at center, you've still got your unicorn in the middle, but now there is room for the shooters on the perimeter and room for Rondo and Jrue to drive. Cousins might have a bigger impact ona team where he is the only true big, like Chicago.Split T wrote:That's because AD is a freak. Promises are so funny to me, especially this early. Doesn't the promising team want to see who is on the board? If they've found what they think is a steal, why would the player shut down workouts? Wouldn't he want to move higher in the draft? The stats are NOT good. Besides. 90% chance we are drafting Ayton. JMO.JCSunsfan wrote:Coming back from achilles surgery. There goes our draft pick.Split T wrote:I think Bud will get a lot more out of the Giannis bucks than Kidd did.
I don’t think anybody was expecting the Bucks to get worse. This was the year to get that pick, but we lost the coin flip.Superbone wrote:There goes our draft pick.Split T wrote:I think Bud will get a lot more out of the Giannis bucks than Kidd did.
I agree and I've been saying the same thing. That #1 pick sure makes it a lot easier to deal with though, doesn't it?Cap wrote:I don’t think anybody was expecting the Bucks to get worse. I get Porter fills a huge hole New Orleans has at the 3, but his contract stinks. That's a lot of money to invest in a role player.Split T wrote:Would Washington do Porter for cousins? That would be great for New Orleans.
I've been saying that the Bucks might not improve. They have needs up and down the roster, and have not been managed well. There's plenty of room for error, and a history of making mistakes.Cap wrote:I don’t think anybody was expecting the Bucks to get worse. New Orleans isn't getting cap space anytime soon anyways. Porter has good size, plays defense and is a great catch and shoot guy. He's overpaid, but he's a great fit.INFORMER wrote:I get Porter fills a huge hole New Orleans has at the 3, but his contract stinks.
