FWIW Zion makes $6m more than Jalen Green ($39m / yr vs $33m / yr) so we'd either take on salary or need to include other players to even it out. Both guys have 3-year deals so there's no savings or cost there.
All sorts of weight and games played related clauses in Zion's contract. Including a team option, I believe.
One cringe thing about Zion…. His weight and games played clauses added in his contract… Do we really want a guy who’s gotta have these issues put in a contract? Granted I like the teams protection but don’t see those as “aligning” values this team is building.

Isn't this the real danger of bringing Zion on board. Say what you will about Green's shot selection, but there is never any question about effort. Just a brilliant sixth man shackled to a star contract.

I thought Dumars guaranteed all his money a couple of years ago, could be wrong tho.
I can't read that article (no account), but, wasn't the issue basically that Minny wouldn't include anything valuable in their side of the deal? They wanted KD but didn't want to give up anything to get him.

The article didn't go into detail but the general consensus from comments was that both the Suns and Wolves were in agreement but KD nixed it.
Bright Side: The case for keeping Royce O'Neale. I mostly think we should trade him, but only if we get something tangible back. Don't trade him just to get rid of him.
I would have no problem keeping Royce as an 8th-9th guy getting 15 or so minutes as a heatcheck guy. Relying on him to start and play 30+ minutes as a 3/4 is where things go sideways. A part of me wants him traded just so Ott is maybe forced to go big.

If we trade Royce, my fear is that Coach Ott just plays Jordan Goodwin at PF... Sounds like a joke, but it's basically what we did in the playoffs. The real solution is to play Fleming more, and/or for Oso to figure out a way to play PF next to ManMan, but I doubt that the latter is a viable plan.
