Game Day: Lakers (19-38) @ Suns (17-39), Wed 2/15/17

Pretty well played and exciting game. The shitty Lakers had alot to do with it for being so shitty. Did I mention they were shitty?
I especially love all the lobs Bledsoe was able to make (accurately) and the one from half court...(NBA Jam announcer voice) "Ohhhh my"
Booker looked pretty locked in as well. I'm sure he salivates knowing how bad the Laker defense is.
Warren started off strong. Wish he could have kept going. Still not sure about him. If we can sell high on him at the deadline I'd probably take it. He's just too much of an enigma still. Again, only selling high.
If I had 1 complaint with this game is that Watson put PJ effing Tucker back in the game after his injury. Like WTF dude? Does he have to be in a wheelchair to sit out or would Watson still put him out there for 25 mins? Seriously, it was a blowout the game going into the All Star Break. Let. Him. Sit. You're so annoying Watson.

I would have too, especially if you hope to trade him before they play again. You need to show the league he is fine after leaving the court with a lower back injury.djy2j wrote:Pretty well played and exciting game. The shitty Lakers had alot to do with it for being so shitty. I did not think of that. I was frustrated at the time that they put him back in.Indy wrote:

... just curious if there still are any "Luke Walton is next great NBA mega-coach" believers out there after last night ... ?
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

The Suns aren't as good as they looked and the Lakers aren't as bad as they looked. IMO back to backs can have a huge impact on games. We were rested and the Fakers played the night before. We came out with energy and torched them and they were done.
We played a back to back short handed against a rested Houston team last week and made them look like Champions and us a junior high team.
Houston is a lot better than the Fakers but, the point is back to backs do have an impact on games.
I think Luke left his starters in as a learning tool for them. "I'm not bailing you out by pulling you. Deal with it."

In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

I wanna know how much of it stemmed from the fact that a lot of Suns fan are UA fans and he went there. I feel like that had A LOT to do with it.LazarusLong wrote:... just curious if there still are any "Luke Walton is next great NBA mega-coach" believers out there after last night ... ?

I don't think Walton is a coaching prodigy. But I'd take him as Suns coach any day over Watson, and twice on Sundays.LazarusLong wrote:... just curious if there still are any "Luke Walton is next great NBA mega-coach" believers out there after last night ... ?

If he can improve his basketball IQ, jumper and strength then he can be something special.Superbone wrote:Yeah, I know what you mean. Chriss played well tonight though. One of his better games. It looked like he was kind of putting it together but then again, it was the Lakers so it was hard to tell.UglyTruth wrote:Bledsoe is playing amazing. I wonder if he suffers another torn meniscus later this season, McD will be in his office sucking his thumb thinking "Damn should've traded him when his value was so high".
And I'm so glad that Jones Jr finally got his first dunk out of the way before the dunk conest!
Speaking of dunks, has anyone missed as many dunks in the NBA as Chriss? Your accuracy must be so dreadful in order to miss as many dunks as he has this season. A bunch of potential dunk of the years that just clank off the rim.
I'm surprised when one of his dunks actually goes through the net.
Even his handles are actually not bad for someone that tall.

Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

At this point, Walton and Watson are equal in my mind. Neither has proven anything.

Bingo. It's going to take time even though many here have their minds made up about both.Split T wrote:At this point, Walton and Watson are equal in my mind. Neither has proven anything.

Exactly. They both have sub-standard rosters, and neither are doing anything with them.Split T wrote:At this point, Walton and Watson are equal in my mind. Neither has proven anything.

I haven't seen too many Lakers games but they were playing well at the start of the year and dealt with DAR and Randle missing some time. My biggest things are: Are guys playing hard; Are they executing. I've watched Brooklyn, which has almost a DLeague roster, Kenny Atkinson has those guys playing hard and executing every night. They may lose because of talent, but those guys haven't checked out, dogged it, or gone for their own even when they know it's a lost season. Super impressed with what he's done there, despite the W/L record.
Re: Game Day: Lakers (19-38) @ Suns (17-39), Wed 2/15/17
I do think that in general our guys are playing hard and have good attitudes. There is too much "me-first" play, and I wish Watson would curb that. But at least they aren't squabbling and infighting and not trying.
