They drafted him, guaranteed him some solid money, they did him enough favors. Sorry Devin, I'd rather watch UDFA Shaq Harrison play defense than watch Ulis dribble around hoist up a contested long 2.
Does anyone else think this is being way overblown?
Probably.
But to be honest, Ulis shouldn't have been drafted in the first place. Stop chasing after buddies and family members. Just get good basketball players, make sound financial decisions, and put a team together that fits together and is well-balanced.

That's probably right. Once you sign the best friend / brother / whatever, now it's super awkward if you rid of him or refuse to play him. Best to avoid the situation as much as you can, unless the player involved is a real gem. I like Ulis, but he probably isn't worth the fuss.
I had hope his first year but his size (and weight) is just too much to overcome.

Come on, INF. You know that makes too much sense!
Especially if you dont really have the courage to show some common courtesy to call them up after their friend/family member is traded to let them know.

Booker ought to be writing a thank you note to Sarver and McD for giving Ulis a legit shot at making it in the NBA. Ulis had every opportunity to show he belonged. It was just clear he is not an NBA player in the end.
Why is the need to meet in LA on Tuesday? What framework ? Is it not already set what you can pay? Call him right now just offer the max, tell him that you love your number 1 an get it done already. I don't like such meetings which include McD and Sarver together. Hope JJ is there too.

Jumping into phx-suns.net: Civil War a bit late, but I wonder if the folks who called Ariza purely a SG/SF did their research. It has been widely reported that he plays a Shawn Marion role for Houston, regardless whether he is actually classified a SF.
Ariza goes unnoticed by many, but he is doing for Houston what Shawn Marion did for the Phoenix Suns during D'Antoni's trailblazing reign a decade ago: spread the floor and cover all the gaps with positionless plays on offense and defense.
With the addition of Lou Williams to the rotation and Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni's determination to give Williams significant and consistent playing time, Eric Gordon has matched up with small forwards, shifting much of Trevor Ariza's playing time to power forward.
I personally love the move. Start Ariza but give Dragan Bender a chance/incentive to get his act together. I hesitate to contradict Informer based on his prior record, but I'm pretty confident that the Suns won't get beaten up inside.
Regarding the front office's fuck-up with Booker -- very unhappy regardless of the circumstances. Booker might have been expecting it but he should have been informed.

Probably got to smooth over the Ulis situation first.
Bring him to Vegas where anything could possibly go wrong, or let him "work out" in Seattle where he's likely surrounded by his old friends and family. It's a conundrum.

He is 100% traded. They’re not even invested in his offseason regimen.

I think the Booker thing is overhyped too. His friend got cut. As a true friend you have to act pissed off or it seems like you don’t care about your buddy.

Kind of telling that the Suns prefer him to be away from the team rather than in Vegas working out with teammates and the new coaching staff.
