When you talk about Bender not being salvageable because his mental make-up is not being aggressive enough (even though he is 19), I think you are nuts. But when I read this article about Chriss, I can't find a way his mental make-up is salvageable because he talks as if the world is against him and there is nothing he can do about it. It is a completely different mindset than "the world is against me and I am going to show everyone how wrong they were about me."
Does that make me racist?
I don't think so, but I do think Chriss' attitude is salvageable. Don't know about the bball iq.
I think Bender is more naturally a #2 guy. He want's to support the team, and has to learn to trust his own body and talent. I think Chriss is depressed, and needs to talk to a counselor about it. I bet talking to the media makes it a lot worse.

No. One just happens to be black and the other white. If you reversed races and everything else was exactly the same, I think we'd all feel the same way. Speaking of Bender, I criticized him for his lack of intensity but I am now seeing glimpses. I am hoping that he can get there. Chriss is very immature but he is also very young. He needs a life coach badly.

Lol, maybe.
I also have more faith in Bender than Chriss. Two main reasons: I think Bender has more of an insight into his problems, he's well aware that he's too passive and is making an attempt at fixing that. He made strides for a few games (yet again has become irrelevant the last 2 games. really disappointing that he can't sustain any ounce of progress). However, he acknowledges the issue and seems to make a genuine effort to fix that.
Chriss has a horrible attitude, continues to bark and sulk on the court, and he doesn't even seem to acknowledge that his attitude is a real problem. I think Bender's problem is insecurity and personality, I think Chriss's issues come from entitlement. I have much less faith in him.
The other reason I have much less faith in Chriss is because frankly I don't think he has much basketball skill. He's an athlete. His skill level is marginal. M******f had the attitude but he had legitimate NBA talent. Bender has legitimate talent that he flashes when he is aggressive.
What I don't get is why Chriss misses so many dunks. He had another ally oop miss last night. He does have some extreme athleticism as seen by some of his blocks but I think he is lacking in the skills department. His 3 point shot is all over the place. Sometimes swishes, sometimes airballs, and sometimes banks it in.
Ya I doubt that's true. Maybe he doesn't have a vice grip on the ball with one hand like some guys, but I'm sure he can stand there and hold the ball in one hand.
I can palm a ball. But I'm only 5'9 and at my best during my youth, I could barely smack the bottom of the backboard.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
These dunk and leaping references are too funny. I know the guys try meet up at Zipps I think is the right name, has there even been a Suns.net scrimmage ?

Haha, I'd definitely be down. I still play a little but my best days are behind me. Definitely can't dunk anymore, even if I could palm a ball.

Any more? Best I ever could do was touch the rim. I still play 3 or 4 days a week.
I'm 6' 0.5" and can touch the rim but not even close to dunk. At my most athletic I could dunk on a slightly lowered hoop, barely. But I couldn't consistently jump high enough to even grab a 10' rim and hang on to it. Alas.
