What did you think?

Meh. I understand his analogy of saying if you are a coach with a single philosophy and a way to play, you limit yourself. Seeing himself as a chef that has to work with the ingredients Ryan/James gives him is entirely accurate, but you would hope the guy that you bring in to install an offense and defense, and adjust it every game/quarter, would have more say in who is brought in.

All in all, he was #3 on my list to bring in (even if the first one wasn't completely realistic). I hope that our investments on stacking up assets pays off and we can let our coach make the most out of the players we have, especially considering I can't see us acquiring a great shooting, star player at 3 positions for next year through the draft/fa/trades--which is what it would take for this team to be a top tier playoff team by 2020.

I'd much rather have a coach that is adaptable versus a coach that has his style of play and will enforce it regardless of personnel.

Indy, you’re thinking like a Binar. Just because he isn’t making the final decisions doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any say. Typically the person choosing the ingredients does consult with the chef, unless it’s a game show.

The FO has shown that the coach has a say on draft night in past years--didn't Watson lead the Team Chriss charge leading up to the draft, even though the FO was Team Bender? Im guessing that a new coach that is blazing a trail may not want to make huge waves about demanding input into personnel choices on his first press conference. My bet is that he will be one of the voices in the room leading up to the draft.

Who actually would be interested?

The Suns didn’t win the lottery when they landed the first pick in the NBA draft. They won the lottery a long time ago, when they convinced fans to hand over their hard-earned cash to watch them tank.

I will be honest
As someone in another country who never been to a game or even spent $$ for League Pass, sometimes this Awful Truth is not always on my mind
I was one happy to say I stuck it out, watching most of the games despite the Tank but obviously a free stream and paying $$ to go are two completely different things
