So was Flex alluding to Deni almost dropping to us and would he have been the pick? Seems odd.

And KOC is well liked and regarded around NBA Twitter and he tends to favor the Suns but most every mock I saw had Smith going 15-20. He wasn't a 2nd rounder.
Sam Vecenie had him as a 2nd round grade. Kevin had good things to say about the pick
In no form way or shape a 15-10 PF/C with defense and a 3pt shot is a second rounder.
He basically thinks he can shoot on offense and block shots on defense. Says he’s stiff athletically and can’t guard the perimeter. Two foot jumper who needs space and time to leap.
Yes, he is not the most fluid athlete, but the skill is there. I've seen many on here clamoring for basketball players instead of athletes who happen to play basketball.
I’m not against him, just relaying info from Sam. If Haliburton wasn’t on the board, I would have had no issues with the pick. Still surprised me.

Shoots off screens like a guard. Does not look stiff at all to me. What do I know though. lol.
Go Suns!

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW Jalen Smith I actually love it! I was thinking we might trade back and have a shot at him but he gives us the athletic 4 we need.
We did need a PF. Probably our greatest immediate need.

Of course. With Hali available we could feel blue balls even if our guy is nice.

He's more of a tradional big athletically, a 4/5 rather than a perimeter/faceup 4 with quickness to guard perimeter bigs. He's a quick leaper so blocks, putbacks, lobs are where he stands out. I think he can get better putting the ball on the floor to be a threat but again, he just needs to be good at what he does right now. Some of his offense starts at the 1:40 mark.

We picked an ok player...how underwhelming...just...FFFFFF....sigh...
Everyone said that about Cam Johnson too.
Cam is fine, but let's all be honest. He wasn't the best player available at #11.
Yep, but honestly if Jalen Smith turns out to be solid like Cam, then I’ll be happy I guess. Even if there are better players taken after him. Drafting just solid players is a nice change compared what was happening with McD.

Absolutely. Couldn't understand people saying our biggest need entering the offseason was a backup guard.

I'm not at all upset about not getting Kenard. IMO, he's a rotation player who's been expected to be a starter.

Some interesting guys still available. Tyrese Maxey, Desmond Bane, RJ Hampton, Tyrell Terry, Precious Achiuwa. I wouldn’t mind trading back in to the 1st. Not sure how we’d do that though.

Most everyone was singing his praises since the Chris Paul trade, but now that he didn't pick the player they wanted he sucks??
Let the dust settle. Everybody loves Cam Johnson now.

We also have Nader, who's more or less a similar type of player in fewer minutes.

Would Myles Turner be a good comp for Jalen Smith? Lanky, tall dudes that play defense and shoot 3s at a decent clip.

Turner is bigger. Think Jalen is a more versatile shooter. But ya in a similar mold.
