Rudy took almost 3 times as many FTA per game this season.
Wow. That's all I can say.
It makes sense if you think about it. If he gets more offensive rebounds, doesn't pass out of them, and takes less FGA, then that's probably because teams are fouling him when he gets the offensive rebounds. He isn't a great free throw shooter. In fact, teams have even played hack-a-Rudy at times.
That is a really good point. But the strategy works well for the Jazz. He scores 4.6 ppg from the line on only 7.7 total FGAs. Ayton only gets 1.8 ppg from the line while taking 12.0 FGAs.
And how exactly is that helpful if Gobert's FT% is worse than his FG%?

I'll take Ayton's 30.3 points per 100 possessions over Gobert's 19.3 points per 100 possessions in the playoffs every single time.
Ah, cherry picking numbers. Got it. For the record, I wouldn't swap Ayton for Gobert because Gobert is another guy that will never live up to a max contract.

Since this is trade proposal mania these days...

DA to Houston for 3,17...and...hmmm...John Wall and/or Schroder? Gordon?

VT
Yeah, lets get a bunch of old broken down guys for him. Perfect.
Um...you do realize that at 3, with 3 really solid front court players available in the draft, that this and a solid backup at guard...I think Wall's contract comes off book not too far out (1 year?), and comes off book...and you can run him and Gordon or Schroder in backup to Chris and Book...and you have a wildcard at 17 on that pick...its not that crazy...

Dennis Schroder is a disqualifier for me. He's not worth the headache.

...I didn't construct the whole trade there...we'd need to add a player and can tweek what we ask for...to me Wall as backup for a year with an expiring contract and the #3 is the center of this...we need to get into the top 3 for this to be worth anything to me on a S&T model like this...if its center on a draft pick. I see you get an add'l pick and maybe Wall can have a solid year in a backup role...perhaps...

No rookie centers or forwards are going to advance us forward more than Ayton. No thanks.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Yeah, let’s draft a 19 year old to match with our win now mentality with our 38 year old and 26 year old back court.

Paul will be 38 next year and Booker will turn 26 before the season even starts

So you always quote people's ages 11.5 months in advance? And technically I think the season starts about 2 weeks before Book's birthday. :P

Let’s talk about something even scarier than 38. And that’s 39. If we don’t win it all this next season, we sure ain’t gonna win with a 39-year old Chris Paul as a centerpiece the next year. So it’s either got to be one final attempt to win this season or else blow the whole team up right now and trade Paul.

Paul will turn 38 when the real season- the one that matters- begins.

Carry the hell on …

The point is to do everything we can with the assets we have so that Chris Paul is not one of our top 2 players.

Nobody is saying that OG will be that guy. You are just reading into it what you want so you can throw your shit over everything.

You literally said we trade our assets into someone better than CP3.

Then you say trade DA for OG.

So which is it? What’s your idea other than to belittle?

To be fair, replying to someone that their proposed trade idea equates to "the fuck outta here" is belittling.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Lol. True. I didn’t say I’m innocent, just that I present my own ideas as well

I have a hard time getting mad at Saucey because I look over and see his goofy ass Popeye Jones avatar looking back at me. Hard to take him too seriously!
