Am I the only one that feels like sometime in the near future, we need to find a way to f with Indiana? WTF was wrong with some form of a S&T?

Sounds like the suns were the team not willing to cooperate with a S&T

I still don't understand why everyone is so against the idea of running it back AND adding Durant. Or thinks that's impossible.

I don’t think anyone would be against that…it’s probably more the feasibility of it.

Feasibility of it aka will Sarver pony up for a huge tax bill to try and win a championship.

I'd be down to run it back without Durant so we can keep Bridges and Cam. We need depth. Address the holes in our PG / SG backups to Booker and CP3. That's what killed us last season when it came playoffs. CP3 and Booker were cooked.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I’m more concerned about having the assets to get Brooklyn to agree to a trade

I think if KD wants to be here he will be...eventually. Perhaps during the season like I said before. We might not have to give up more than Cam + filler and picks, or even just filler and picks.

(But that's enough about KD. I don't want anyone accusing me of turning an Ayton thread into a KD thread. :P)

My analysis is that we were treading water with the negotiations. And were exploring other options for Ayton, possibly NY or Utah. This was Indiana’s way to force us to deal with them.

Wolf went from saying "KD or back" to "KD AND back." I love it! :P

My suggestion...bring him back...and hire Chuck as a special trainer to slap some toughness into his game!

We've been in Indiana's position in the past. (Anyone remember Eric Gordon?) It's our turn now. Do it Jones!

The massive luxury tax would only be for one year potentially. CP3 is not fully guaranteed after this season.

Ya but they aren’t waiving CP3 unless he has a career ending injury or something close.

My only fear is that the Suns wait until 9 pm Saturday to match, in order to try to get KD before the matching deadline, so that they can have an excuse for letting DA walk.

I mean let's be honest. If the Suns had already traded for KD, what are the chances they match? If we keep DA, I may have Sean Marks to thank.

Gambo is hearing neither side has interest in a sign-and-trade. Suns are not interested in anything on Pacers' roster.

I bet it's just Herb Simon refusing to let the contract be signed until right before midnight, due to his longstanding policy.

EDIT: Gambo says nothing is close with KD trade talks.

Gambo's gut feeling now is that Suns match the offer sheet.

As I have said, if the Suns don't get a good S&T or match, I'm out -- unless the pull off some kind of miracle.

Thanks but I am seeing signs that the Suns have half a brain.

We have to match. We have a few hours to try to work out a S&T, but I don’t think Indiana is going to offer us anything worth it. Turner and a pick is nowhere near good enough, and the Pacers won’t offer more than that, if they even offer that.
It’s hard to have an opinion on this without knowing exactly how it impacts our KD pursuit. If we really can still get KD without anything involving Ayton, then I can just have an opinion on this alone. In that case I’d be in favor of just flipping Ayton for Turner. I would want a pick too, but I’m wary of committing long term max money to Ayton. If we need Ayton or something from Ayton to get KD, I hold out for Turner and a pick or I just tell Indy we’re matching.

Scenarios in order of my preference.

1. Somehow we loop Brooklyn in and just work out some 3 team deal today to get KD to Phoenix and Ayton to Indy.

2. We S&T Ayton to Indy for Turner and a 1st and keep assets in play to flip for KD

3. We get KD without Ayton or assets from an Ayton deal and just take a Ayton for Turner swap.

4. We match an Ayton offer and still find a way to get KD

5. We let Ayton walk and still get KD

6. We S&T Ayton for Turner and a pick but don’t get KD

7. We S&T Ayton for Turner and don’t get KD

8. We match Ayton and don’t get KD

9. We let Ayton walk and don’t get KD

So my clear preference is still just get KD
What else ya got? ;)
