The depth will come from a maxed-and-traded Darius Bazley. ;)

It’s just a little overkill. It would obviously work but you wouldn’t be able to get full value out of all 4. 2 would end up being shooters in the corner every play.

So???!!!?? But also they all can’t play all 48 mins so would be easy to mix their sets, you’d be able run 2 of them at all times and come crunch time, you would have 4 elite 3 level scorers. Good luck.
You could get someone much cheaper to play that role and also add depth and defense for the same price.
Can we???? Right now, unless we get a great deal for Ayton, we’re just gonna have vet min players to fill out our roster, I’m sure we are gonna get solid players but they are also vet min players for a reason. The Ayton trade market is looking pretty bare so far, sure there is still time but it’s looking very likely that he’s staying, and I really have no idea what his trade value will be going forward, it’s very possible come trade deadline his value is even worse than it is now. My original, obviously pipe dream, 3 team trade idea basically was trading Ayton and Payne for Damien Lillard, if y’all would turn that down, you’re bonkers.

This is all silly tho. We ain’t getting Dame.

…no matter how are hard I speak it into existence.

I can't see Smart being part of discussions. He's so ingrained in the Cs identity. He's like their Haslem. Horford is kind of like that too but less so.
I swear as soon as I typed this out, I almost knew Smart would get traded.

To be fair to yourself, they tried to trade Brogdon first.

I guess my point is if you can get Dame with Ayton, you can get depth and defense. If that was literally the only offer, sure I’d take it, but like you said, there’s no way that’s being offered.

That’s not necessarily true. It seems we weren’t able to get depth and defense in a trade for Chris Paul—and yet we got Beal. Sometimes it may be easier to get a star, if they’re forcing their way to you.

Let's just acquire every star with a no-trade clause. Good strategy.

To be fair, my pipe dream was little slightly more nuanced than Dame for Ayton lol, it was Dame asking/demanding his way to Phoenix and the assets from a 3rd team for Ayton going to Portland with Portland agreeing to help their franchise best player and because he never ran from the grind :)

I mean, in that scenario, while crazy, definitely isn’t zero precent.

…prolly pretty close but it’s not zero, dammit!!!

Anyways it’s just my offseason 2K pipe dream. Can’t I have dreams??!

There aren't any players with a no-trade clause besides Beal. I was trying to make a joke.

We will see what’s next once Lillard asks out. I think dominios start to fall. KD, Book, and Beal out recruiting.

Never stop dreaming!

However hearing we have zero draft picks for the next several years is kinda freaking me out…. That right there tells me our odds. Portland would have to have massive draft compensation for any dame trade.

Starts with the 24-25 season and you have to be over the 2nd apron twice to get that penalty. So the way I see it is if we are over in 24-25 and 25-26, our 2026 1st will move to the end of the 1st round.

Though I don’t know how that works with swaps. I know if you’ve traded the pick it doesn’t impact it…but in case of a swap, do they move us to the end of the 1st before or after the other team decides to swap? Doesn’t matter much for us as we’d pick last regardless, but might matter for Washington/Brooklyn.

I also don’t know if they just start moving picks in 2024-25 or if they start counting the penalty in 2024-25. If 23-24 counts towards the 2 years over the 2nd apron, we could have our 2025 pick moved…except we traded that one so it doesn’t matter.

So long story short…our 2024 pick won’t be impacted and we should probably expect to pick at the end of the 1st round in 2026.

These posts in this thread suggesting that the Suns are going to get Dame Lillard are just pure insanity. Doesn't make a lick of sense from a talent/fit or salary perspective.

Sup Suns fam !!

I've been in the Shadows for Months but hope everyone is doing well ✌️👍
I'm one that's kool with the Beal move and still feel like although cap strapped that we might do better getting complimentary pieces than the mix n match we did post KD trade

It would be 9 years from now.

It only applies to the frozen pick 7 years out (starting after 2024-25). So starting in 2032. (If we stay above the second apron three out of five seasons.)
