2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
I've assumed that using the TPMLE hard caps you at the second apron, just like using the non-taxpayer MLE hard caps you at the first apron. But that's a good question.

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
No because I believe the league has a "cap hit" for each empty roster spot until it is used, and with the cap hit from te empty rosters spots, even with minimum signings, you're over the 2nd apron.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
I believe ESPN's calculations include the roster holds.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Using the TPMLE does hard cap you at the 2nd apron. So we aren’t able to use it currently as using it would push us past. There may be other stuff we can do before we fully go over though…kinda crazy that the cba hasn’t even been sent to teams yet though.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Well, I did my own calculations, but admittedly I'm not certain that I'm doing it right. Salary info was taking from spotrac. Not sure how ESPN can report Suns are under the 2nd Apron, unless they assume waiving Payne as Jeremy suggests. OR, they are not including the roster holds, which would be really dumb, and makes me question anything that ESPN reports (I mean I already should do that).

I imagine Landale and Craig will get decent sized deals so we have tradable contracts. I’d expect 6 million each at least.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Yeah, I was seeing upwards of $11.5 million per, just to be a tradable contract. Must be nice, haha.

I've been in the Shadows for Months but hope everyone is doing well
I'm one that's kool with the Beal move and still feel like although cap strapped that we might do better getting complimentary pieces than the mix n match we did post KD trade
I just always contribute more during season cuz I prefer to focus on the "on court" product
How you guys keep up with all the rumors n stuff, I usually need my off season lol
I haven't seen it much in other threads but Book jamming his ankle for me was probably as big a deal as all these other factors combined
CP3 injury....
DA....
KD looking human....
Our bench rotation / production
Book was playing so Unreal I still thought he could overcome everything and we could pull it off so with that being said, I always one of the glass half full guys on here and I excited for the season even with out seeing the ancilliary pieces yet

Has this been posted? Goodwin has some sticky defensive hands.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I'm trying to temper my own expectations of Goodwin at this point, but he's looking a lot more promising than I initially expected. At a minimum, he has the size and competitiveness to make an impact in the rotation. Who knows what kind of talent might be uncovered playing next to his new teammates on the Suns?

Goodwin seems like a great addition to the trade and feel like he could be a rotation guy (10-15 min a night), maybe he can give us spot minutes and if he shows something earn more playing time. Todd I think was thought of as high upside but a project but read that last 2 years hes been bad even in g league. Maybe he can start to put it together for the Suns.

I wouldn't be surprised if he takes Okogie's place on the roster.

I was thinking the same thing.
And before college, Goodwin played for the Saint Louis-based AAU team, Bradley Beal Elite, from his eighth grade through senior year of high school. He looks at Beal as a big brother and mentor.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Watford would be great.
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
What's the scouting report on Watford?
Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread
Advanced handles for a 4-man; solid rebounder, good offensive/scoring ability with range out to the 3-point line. Still relatively young with some upside.
