All Things Ayton
Re: All Things Ayton
Every single nba player can dribble against randos lol. He can't dribble around an NBA defender who knows exactly what he can and can't do.

Reminds me of John Candy as Billy Stemhovilichski in ''Power Play'' on SCTV. A man among boys.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 5:52 amJust me, not impressed against scrubs…. I’d expect him flying in to swat every shot like it’s me vs, 3 year olds. Still isn’t dunking it when 2” from the rim… and against guys who are all a foot shorter. Sure, I’m happy it isn’t footage of him gaming all day… but still.Shabazz wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 12:16 amHere’s DA with some nice looking moves against what look to be regular dudes at LA fitness. Seems to be in shape at least (minimal man-boobs).

He still needs to learn to stop trying to dribble when guards are nearby to avoid getting stripped.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 1:13 pmI'm sure DA can dribble on his own, or against random guys in a pickup game. Being able to hold onto the ball against NBA-caliber defense is what he needs to get better at. It remains to be seen whether he's working on his handles in a way that will help in that regard. I hope he is.

Re: All Things Ayton
I was still encouraged to see him dribble at full speed and not look like a scared baby deer. The bar is that low.

It's not just about being able to hold onto the ball. He needs to become comfortable driving the ball to the hoop.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 1:13 pmI'm sure DA can dribble on his own, or against random guys in a pickup game. Hooping versus Jims and Joes
Re: All Things Ayton
That clip of Ayton looks like he stopped by the local YMCA and is playing against bums in there shooting around.
Re: All Things Ayton
If Barkley was the round mound of rebound, Ayton looks like he could be the lean mean rebounding machine.

Re: All Things Ayton
He is certainly looking lean. I hope we'll be able to watch his qualifier games.

He just needs to work on the "mean" part?

Re: All Things Ayton
Fingers crossed he's able to level up his game and avoid getting injured.
Re: All Things Ayton
That part always scares me about these summer tournaments.

Re: All Things Ayton
I believe that Lauri leveled up his game in international competition last summer, and then it carried over into the NBA season. Let's hope that Deandre follows in the same pattern.

If Ayton doesn't average at least 15 rebounds per game this season, he's not living up to his potential and is not a rebounding machine.

Somebody go tell Bickley that DA's about to "unlock whatever it is" down in Argentina.

Re: All Things Ayton
In the last two playoffs he’s averaged 8.9 and 9.7 RBs. He’s average as fuck. He’s a lean nice washing machine getting thrown into a spin cycle by the opposing team

DeAndre the Lean Nice Washing Machine (LNWM?)... Think it could catch on?

Haters gonna hate. Best consistently rebounding Sun of all time. The facts don't lie.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 12:51 pmIn the last two playoffs he’s averaged 8.9 and 9.7 RBs. He’s average as fuck. He’s a lean nice washing machine getting thrown into a spin cycle by the opposing team
