Boston Globe calls on Biden to step aside. Wow.

The NY Times did that a day after the debate. Others have just been following suit since.

It does put the corporate media in the spotlight as having carried his water for years on this matter, and constantly running cover for his behavior. How can you trust them to tell you the truth? The are basically Dem operatives.
I think that's a reasonable question to ask. There may be some of that, of outlets having given Biden friendly coverage and not pressing the age issue. But I also think some of it is that the campaign didn't give media outlets very much access, so they didn't have much to go on. They were reassured by the admin that Biden was fine, not given enough access to confirm or deny this, and then the media outlets had to decide how to report on the (lack of) information they had on the subject. They were/are still a bit sensitive about how their overly gleeful coverage of the Hillary's emails non-story may have lost her the 2016 election, so they were being careful not to overhype a possible 2024 non-story about Biden's age. This Twitter thread does a decent job summarizing this idea.

Biden has made a few appearances since the debate, and imo they mostly are not reassuring. He is still having moments like this:

I think his pride is getting in the way now. Just like RBG, he's thinking about himself rather than what's best for the country.

He had another clip (can't find it now) where he went on a black radio/podcast show and he said something about how he was proud to the the first Black vice president who served with the first Black president, or something like that? I think he was trying to say he's proud to have been VP under Obama and had Kamala as his VP, but he mangled it, and it comes out sounding like another senior moment.

It’s insanely unrealistic for anyone to think that Biden could possibly even remain at his current level of cognitive function for another 5 years. He is only going to progressively worsen. Therefore, why should he be running for another term?

Even another 6 and 1/2 months is probably too long for him to remain in office.

EDIT: After reading that Washington Post article, he probably should resign by July 20…let’s give him a full 3.5 years, lol.

It makes sense that people who are with him every day are not noticing his decline as much as those who haven’t seen him for awhile.

Well, he believes he is widely popular. He must be, since he got the most votes ever for a President, by far. More popular than even Barrack Obama.

This is an interesting thread from David Roberts, who mostly writes and podcasts about climate change. Here he argues that if the Dems switch Biden to Kamala, the media and everyone else will almost immediately begin picking her apart because that's what they love to do.

The Biden interview with George Stephanopoulos is pretty striking. I'm seeing people say Biden did pretty well, better than the horrible debate. But he looks just about as bad to me. His voice is still a hoarse whisper, he pauses and stammers, he can't seem to always find and finish his thoughts. I think he's toast. Other than a brief rally he held right after the debate, I don't think I've seen him have a "good" appearance since then. I really think something has changed for him; his health has taken a turn, or something. I think he needs to go.

Another Dem House member calls on Biden to drop out; the fifth to do so. I think we're going to see more and more of these (House, Senate, governors, etc.) calling for him to step aside in the coming days.

At least the Dems have the balls to bail on their candidate for the betterment of America; I'll give them that.

This is interesting. This guy that has a system and a great track record for picking the election winners says one option is for Biden to step down before the election and let Kamala take over the presidency:

Honestly, I haven't been at all impressed with Kamala as VP. I don't think she gets us any closer than Biden to a Democratic win.
