Well there is your first concrete news, I'll take it. Get Nurk outta here just to clean up some of the vibes will do wonders.

So with Williams, one thing this team has needed is more attitude, more emotion, more bark. Does Williams give us any of that? Could that be weirdly good energy for this all too often "unbothered" team? Or is it more like dumbass douchebag energy where he's yelling about nothing, starting shit over nothing, making bad decisions based on emotion and not reading the game properly, etc.?

I’m just not sure it matters, he won’t be on the court until mid 25-26 season anyways

But would he be on the bench? Probably not, right? Anybody know if he's on the Hornets' bench? I guess we'll see tonight. Although probably not on road games anyway, even if he did make home games.

He might be on the bench but I get the feeling our guys probably already don’t like him…I don’t see how him being a dick while sitting on the bench not playing helps anything…if anything he’s just gonna cause problems

Which was my point in asking.

Idk Jordan Poole got punched in the face at practice and then traded to Egypt. You don't bring in total shitters, no way Book and KD fuck with Williams.

Ya I’m fine with telling him to just stay home and rehab… we can try and trade him in the summer or just waive and stretch him…he’s the price we have to pay to unload Nurk and hold onto our 2031 1st

Yeah, that's true too. Suns dictate whether he can be on the bench or not.

Or Dunn, God forbid. But agreed, the injuried player is the only way we have to not pay extra; otherwise we'd be taking a combination of cap relief and something useful now (Micic, Martin, Mann). Actually, not even sure CHA takes the 2-3 2ndRs we have for Richards while taking in Nurkic. I know I wouldn't.

The Suns are smart enough not to include Dunn. Right?!

Let’s say we do the Nurk-Richards trade and somehow pull off Beal+2031 for Butler…

Jones/Booker/Butler/KD/Richards
Morris/Allen/Royce/Dunn/Oso
Gillespie/Lee/Okogie/Bol/Plumlee
TyTy/Bridges

How does that look? Is it enough?

What’s interesting to me is you could conceivably get under the 2nd apron in the summer. Richards is signed for another year at 5 million. If Butler opts out and re-signs at the number Gambo mentioned(3/110), we decline the team option on Okogie, and fill the roster with vet min signings, I have us at 208 million…2nd apron will be 207.8 million if we see a 10% increase. Turn a vet min or 2 into a rookie minimum and we are under the 2nd apron….could easily go under if we waive and stretch Williams.

At that point just go Okogie and 2nds…Including Dunn for Richards would be awful

Maybe it's me but I'm still not impressed with that roster and don't think it makes us anymore of a legit contender.

Thought we can't trade players together?

We can’t aggregate salaries, but you can do separate trades like Nurk for Richards/Williams and then Dunn for some minimum player or pick.

I think it clearly makes us better…I agree it likely doesn’t make us a contender, but it also sets us up better for the future as we get off Nurk and Beal.

There’s enough talent there though that I think it at least gives us a small shot.
