Let's face it - Richards will be of a lot more use to this team than Okogie was. You have to love Okogie's defense and effort, but his offewnse was never good enough that you could depend on him in the playoffs.

I'm happy with the deal. Getting Richards isn't the answer, but it's a step in the right direction. Probably the best big they could actually get. I would have preferred giving up one less 2nd, but after last night, Suns were desperate.
There is no one answer. Baby steps.

Think we are stuck unfortunately…leave him at home for the rest of the year and then waive and stretch him this summer.
I think we still play him. We need rebounding. That's his best trait.

Play him at point…. No one seems to like to fit into traditional rolls on this team. 😛

That’s what Richards is for now…but if he’s willing, he could play situationally

Nurkic is still a great rebounder, so somebody will have some interest in him if the price is right.

That price might unloading a similar contract, but if it's a big man with a pulse we should listen.

The way we rebound, we might need to play them together.

Richards and Nurk is better than Richards and Plumlee with Oso rotation for either duo.

Puts KD back at his regular 3 position, let's go big.

I hope I don’t have to see that lineup play offense or try and defend the perimeter…sounds like a great end of game secure the ft lineup.

Very good move. Two seconds is the most I was willing to pay. Okogie was a good soldier for us, one of the very few hustlers on the roster. Wish him good luck. Eager to see how Richards plays for us, he has the opportunity of his career.

For reference…rebound rates this year:

Nurk - 21.4
Plumlee - 19.9
Richards - 19.2
Oso - 12.6

Though I bet Richards goes up here because our other 4 guys are usually pretty bad.

Suns get a trade exception I believe, right? I bet we use it for Doup Reath straight up.

Solid trade. I also heard we’re getting a $3.2 million trade exception. I wonder if we try and use that to acquire Duop Reath.
