I'll agree with that. Just don't think it's very winnable. Sure, they could win. We'll see. I just don't trust this team any more after all the games up to this point.

Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(5 wins to go? Honestly 4 might do it)
Went 3-1 in the last 4 to take over the 10 seed. Now we just gotta match wins with Dallas. Schedule breaks up into a murderers row over the next 10(Which includes 4 games against the 3 best teams in Cleveland, BostonX2, and OKC. Plus Mil X2, Houston, Minny, NYK, and GS) then two winnable games against the Kings and Spurs.
3-7 over the next 10 should set us up to control our destiny by beating the Spurs and Kings to close the season and snag the 10 seed.

I don't wanna make the play in. Mercy kill it.

We would be lucky to win 3 of the next 10. The play-in is still going to be tough to make.

Play in was a great idea, without it we would be checked out already.Split T wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 9:41 pmWent 3-1 in the last 4 to take over the 10 seed. Now we just gotta match wins with Dallas. With the recent change to the lineup, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Suns go on a tear.

I want a strong end of the season and maybe a play-in but want it based on the play of the young guys and their getting experience. I wouldn't want ownership to use it as a justification for keeping the team together "oh, they turned a corner as the season was ending. This team is good and needs another year".

Don't know who is still playing fantasy league but the Top Teams are all resting guys so this week has been crazy so far with guys getting rested.
So not only are Mavs struggling but things might also work in our favour because no guarantees of facing teams at full strength.

That's where I'm at. It's just so puzzling why it took this team nearly 70 games to figure out that defensive intensity, rebounding the basketball, and reducing turnovers is what it takes to win games. Also 70 games to find the right combinations of youth and experience. I do like our roster a lot better now than what we started the season with.
I guess I could see if we continued to play like this and had success against this upcoming top teams gauntlet, that Ish and management could think about running it back next season.

You gotta give it up for the Mavs though that they keep fighting through adversity and they're giving it everything they've got.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 6:42 amMavs are really not getting any sorta luck so....

I don't mind watching them lose if they give the same effort they've been giving the last two games. That's all I ask at this point.TOO wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 8:35 amBut also, I'll have to watch them flame out again and I don't wanna.![]()

Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(5 wins to go? Honestly 4 might do it)
You’re acting like there’s an ounce of rationality in the FO. Ish just went on record saying that today is all that matters and that youth and future draft picks do not. After that quote, it’s hard to see him allowing Jones to trade KD for youth and picks.
“Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today.” — Ish 3/13/25
Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(5 wins to go? Honestly 4 might do it)
At this point, my two biggest worries are (1) that KD gets badly injured before the season is over, preventing us from trading him; or (2) that we do trade him this summer, but NOT for youngs and picks, rather for some other veteran in a boneheaded attempt to make another run. My nightmare trade is KD for Julius Randle or something like that, a trade for basically a worse player and no real draft assets or young players returning.
Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(5 wins to go? Honestly 4 might do it)
“Worry”? It’s a certainty. Ish has said no way are we trading KD to rebuild. Either he’s staying or he’s getting traded for something like Randle.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 9:00 amAt this point, my two biggest worries are (1) that KD gets badly injured before the season is over, preventing us from trading him; or (2) that we do trade him this summer, but NOT for youngs and picks, rather for some other veteran in a boneheaded attempt to make another run. Then all is lost.

Our first win on a game I didn’t have as one we needed. Makes up for the Laker loss. Dallas winning tonight too wasn’t great though. I penciled them in for a loss to Detroit.
