I believe this trade works once we renounce the rights to Cody Martin and Micic.

Magic: Cam Johnson, Grayson Allen

Nets: KCP, Goga, Jett Howard, Tristan Da Silva, 16th pick, 24th pick, two 2nds from Magic, Mitchell Robinson, Suns 2029 pick.

Knicks: KD, Nick Claxton, Royce

Suns: KAT, Mikal Bridges, Knick pick swaps

Nets gets nice young pieces and a boat load of Picks, the potential to flip KCP(if not washed) or Mitchell Robinson(also expiring)

Magic: they finally get shooting! Suggs-Cam J- Franz- Paolo-WCJ with Grayson off the bench. That’s a potential top 3 team in the east.

Knicks: Brunson-Hart-OG-KD-Claxton. Royce too. Jeeez…best Knicks team in the last 30 years?

Suns: Book-Mikal-Dunn-KAT-Oso. This moves me.
Knicks just acquired KAT and seem to like him. Would they really trade him for KD? Also, how are the Suns able to trade their 2029 pick to the Nets there, when we have already given away all our picks?

I’d guess he means the 2029 Cavs pick we own

Yes, it’s the Cavs pick.

Why would the Knicks trade KAT? Knicks have been very disappointing this year, basically losing to almost every winning team they went up against, If they flame out against the pistons I would think anything is on the table for them, and I believe this deal makes them much better. My idea for this mostly came from seeing multiple Knick fans on Twitter saying they would trade KAT for KD, so I figured I give it a shot.

Honestly, a KAT for KD swap would be good imo. I think him and Oso complement each other really well and fill in the gaps of each other’s faults. We’d be able to play both together which means no more being too small shit, we big boys. Him and Book are on the same timeline too. I’d do it, especially if rockets gonna offer us bullshit. I hope the warriors whoop they asses.

I would definitely do it…might need to send more than 1 pick to get Mikal and KAT though

I wouldn't even think twice about it. Anything to get Durant away from this organisation.

He's really taken the next step in NY.

Desperate times man. I'm just looking for high level younger talent. He's an idiot but he's very talented

Has KAT gotten better defensively? I haven't watched much of the Knicks this year. He was just dreadful on that end, with unimpressive effort and low defensive IQ.

I've always thought him and book would just kinda work well together. Very compatible offensive games.

No, he’s bad defensively, but he’s elite of the elite offensively for a big.

It would be a beautiful offensive fit. Booker isn’t an amazing athlete, he’s not great at attacking the rim, but KAT’s spacing would open up so much space for him, or give him an easy pass if they leave KAT. You can’t double Book if KAT is the screener because he’ll kill you if you leave him. Knicks are a top 5 offense this year on the backs of Brunson/KAT.

Man, I hope you're right and like your optimism, but I remember some of these same arguments when we were trading for KD. :D

Problem ended up being we didn’t really ever have Book/KD screen for each other…and when they did, most people just switched it. You can switch onto KD now because little guys can just get physical with him on the perimeter and he can’t dribble past them…this is also why we ended up with a lot of high post KD touches where he would just turn and shoot an 18-20 footer over a smaller defender. He was incredible at that compared to the rest of the league, but an open KAT 3, a Devin Booker rim attempt, or KAT bullying a smaller defender to the rim are all much more efficient options.

So I think it helps Booker as a ball handler, but we’d still have to wait and see how it impacts the offense as a whole. Losing KD will hurt. He’s the best bailout option in the league and as good as KAT was this year, KD was still more efficient.

There's a higher probability of Sydney Sweeney appearing in my DMs than the Suns trading KD for KAT.

I think it’s unlikely too, but not quite that unlikely haha. KAT would need to have a very frustrating playoffs for them.

Would it count if she appeared in your DMs to say, "Please stop DMing me"?
