It's about having another pro/vet on the team and in the lockerroom who can help maintain a standard of practice and play. I don't think both need to be part of some firesale. They are redundant so move one, but even keeping the other until the deadline or next summer could get us a better return.specialsauce wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 3:51 pmShip em both out neither is worth their contract over a much cheaper alternative

Sure I agree with that sentiment of having vets set the tone, but I don't think what you're saying is what describes Royce O Neal or Grayson Allen. I think they're the ones that need vets to wake them the fuck upShelC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:30 pmIt's about having another pro/vet on the team and in the lockerroom who can help maintain a standard of practice and play. Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
We’ll get what for him then? Maybe a couple second rounders? Once Micic and Martin have their team options declined that will make the entire net return for Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara:

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
I'd keep Cody Martin if possible. He's the kind of player Ishbia says we're looking for.The Bobster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 5:17 pmThere should be interest in Allen, considering how much emphasis there is on three-pointers now. O'Neale probably won't bring back much in return.
Others who probably won't be back - Tyus Jones, Bol Bol, Cody Martin, Monte Morris and Damion Lee. They probably want to upgrade Mason Plumlee's spot too. Nick Richards seems to be a keeper as a backup and Collin Gillespie, Oso Ighodalo and Ryan Dunn seem pretty safe. Devin Booker seems to be untouchable.
Then you get down to the real questions - Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

We lost the Ayton trade, but your description here is not accurate. You say all we will have gotten for Ayton and Camara is "a couple second rounders." You're omitting Nick Richards, who we got for Nurkic, who in turn was actually a pretty helpful player for us last year, even though he was bad this season. And you're omitting whatever the return would be for Grayson Allen. What if Allen gets us a 1st round pick, or a promising young player? You have to list that as part of the return for Ayton + Camara. Again, we lost the trade; I accept your broader point. I just think you're being misleading about what we got as "net return" for Ayton + Camara.

That’s where the second rounders came from. But you’re confused about the two Hornets trades. We traded Okogie for Richards. We traded Nurkic for Micic and Martin.

Even if we had not given up Camara, a couple second rounders would still be a terrible return.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 7:21 pmEverbody here agrees that giving up Camara was a mistake.

Lol his brother has agreed to buy a majority stake in the White Sox, that's not gonna be cheap. I think they are just fine.
Forbes has him at 10b net worth as of 24.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
I'm really mad at Ishbia for his bad decision-making. And he doesn't seem to have learned from his mistakes yet, with all his talk about how he was too passive before (??) and how he's going to be more involved in decisions going forward (??). So I am far from an Ishbia apologist. But I would not want to hear that he was selling the Suns. Every time your team changes owners, you have absolutely no idea what you're going to get. The new owner could be cheap like Sarver AND have bad instincts like Ishbia. He could try to move the team out of Phoenix, like what happened with my local Sonics (RIP). You don't want to root for an ownership change unless you are certain that you can't get to contention and run your franchise successfully under your current one.
I'm just rooting for Ishbia to get more years under his belt and learn how to actually be most effective as owner, by hiring great people (NOT people he went to college with), empowering them, giving them ample resources, and then stepping back and giving them the space to shine. The only one of these he has done so far is the "resources" one; otherwise he's hired a bunch of boobs and fools, micromanaged them, overruled them, fired people capriciously, he already has a sexual harassment allegation scandal in his org, and he's openly declaring that his future intent is to be MORE meddlesome in the immediate future. If he were cheap, he would be literally as bad or worse than Sarver in every major way.
Looking at the reign of Sarver is really the only thing that gives me long-term hope for Ishbia. Sarver started out as maybe a D- owner, and through many tough years and lessons learned, by the end he was maybe a B- or C+. Ishbia came in hot out of the gate, but so far I think he's been somewhere in the C- to D range overall. I'm hoping he can learn and become a "B" or "A" owner eventually.

Are you sure he won’t try to move the team to East Lansing?
