Westbrook is kind of like Randle for me. I really like both of them but not sure I want them on the team. I don't think we have the culture or infrastructure to handle two of those win-now vets in the lockerroom.

Right now, we don't know anything about the identity or vision for this roster until any KD trade happens and the draft/FA takes place. All we know is we have Book and a rookie head coach.
Brooks & Dunn...er Book and Dunn.

Why are we only interested in centers who can’t rebound? This is literally going to drive me crazy!
It wouldn't be the first time the Suns have done something to drive you crazy. ;)

Maybe Beal will still be on the Suns next season.

For as great as I think KD is, he is a bit of a ball-stopper for us. I don't know if the blame falls on him, or on the coaching staff, or some combination of that. Not having true point guard played a huge roll there.

Tyus Jones is a pretty good distributing PG with an excellent assist-to-TO ratio. But he seems to have been tasked this past season with bringing the ball up the court and just handing it off to KD (and to a lesser degree Book).

I have always thought this was the most likely outcome. We won't be able to find a good trade to get rid of him, and it's too much money to just buy him out. So I think he'll be back.

I’m glad we’ve seem to come to our senses on Beal. Waiving and stretching him was an awful idea. Let him play, see if he builds up some value and he could actually turn into an asset next year as an expiring…or just let him expire and use the FA money.

The smart thing to do would be to trade KD and Booker for a bunch of picks and young players and let Beal average 30+ ppg as our top scorer and then trade Beal.

Yep. Blow it up. Alas, we will not.

I agree letting (making?) him play and trying to somewhat rehabilitate his value is the best result. Next best is just being patient and let his money come off the books.

What would the blow it up option look like right now?

It’s not happening obviously, but I’m gonna try to walk through it.

I think the best options are Houston and San Antonio. KD isn’t going to get all your picks back from Houston, but Booker could.

Booker to Houston for Green, Eason, Sheppard, 25/27/29 back and I’d want probably more draft capital(maybe swaps in 28/30 as we swapped our picks to he’ll).

Then trade KD to the spurs for Vassell/Barnes/Sochan/14 and if you can, future hawks or wolves pick.

Turn around and send Vassell to Memphis for KCP and 2026 back.

Now we get to tank for 2 years with Beal/Green/Dunn/Sochan/Oso/Eason/Sheppard and whoever we take at 10/14. Get a top 4 pick(hopefully) and draft your superstar, then do it all over again in 26-27.

I like how we went from getting a massive haul for KD to peanuts. My perception has always been.... Nobody smart is going to squander their future for a year of a guy towards the end of his career. Just dumb.

Well we still don’t know what we’re getting…I think the haul just depends on who’s reporting…it’s always going to fluctuate like crazy, but I’ve tried to remind myself as well that it’s not likely to be huge. He’s 36

Seems realistic, although I would see if we could get even more picks for Beal at some point before his contract expires, ideally taking on contracts that still expire by 2027 or at least 2028 so we can still have the cap space.

I'm very against Beal being back in any capacity. Can't move forward until he's gone IMO.

Beal isn't going anywhere this summer and I'd be surprised if he's traded during the next season. I've completely changed my outlook on his stubbornness.

I think he'll play better than last season, but he'll also pick up a soft tissue injury and miss 6-8 games a month.

You’d just waive him?

I don’t want him back either, but unless he gives up a lot of money, it just doesn’t make sense to buy him out.

Whatever it takes, whatever it costs. Not my money, that's the cost of bad decisions.

But his 20 million on the books for 5 years makes us worse…I just think it’s bad team building. I don’t care about the money either, but 20 million of dead money is just stupid.

But you might get your wish…I listened to the Gambo segment today and he still said we’re more likely to waive and stretch him.
