Maybe, just seems like the offers like this aren’t there right now.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Id love that trade, dunno if the clippers are dumb enough to move off Zubac.
Love, Hurts.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I didn't think they would, but when I heard they were pursuing him, I thought they couldn't put a deal together without including him. But I just looked at the numbers again, and they do have other contracts they can use.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Yeah, I think they can build something around Powell and Jones, which like every other SG that keeps getting linked in trade does this team absolutely no good.
Love, Hurts.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
The key would be flipping Norman Powell to a third team. Atlanta, Memphis, and Houston could all be solid candidates.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Dallas could also use Powell
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Some promise
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I keep seeing "price threshold" and "Suns need to lower their demands". I agree on the former and disagree on the latter. If the Suns can't get a good deal without taking on unusable, untradable players with albatross contracts they should just keep Durant, don't extend him and let his salary drop off after next year. At that time Beal will be much more tradable as an expiring contract too. If we can just suffer through one more year we have a much better chance of getting the team on a proper footing.
Edit: Threatening Durant with no extension may convince him to be open to going to other teams

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Or just fucking trade him wherever, who cares what he wants?
Love, Hurts.

I think the Minnesota offer is contingent on buy in from KD

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I’m not really interested in losing him for nothing either.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I thought Gambo said a deal was getting done this week. Whooops.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I think there's a common misunderstanding about this. It isn't that we are treating Durant as if he had a no-trade clause, only considering trading him to teams he loves and wants to play for. It's more from the other teams' side, like Minny. They don't want to give up their good assets unless they get reassurance from KD that he will re-sign there. He isn't offering that assurance, so they are giving worse offers or refusing to make offers. That's my interpretation of the situation. It's similar (trade is blocked because KD doesn't want to go there) but it's on the other team's side, not ours. I think at this point we would trade him wherever if the other team made us the offer we want.

Yup, same thing happened with that Warriors deadline deal.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 12:55 pmI think there's a common misunderstanding about this. Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
