Overpay on Booker.
You can't pay a boarderline All-Star like he's a superstar.

Is it an overpay? Ya probably..but only because the guys better than him are also capped at the same amount. It’s just the going rate for a franchise player…whether they are the best player in the nba or the 15th.
He was always going to get it, so I don’t find a ton of value in debating whether he was worth it or not…to me it comes down to are you planning on keeping him or moving him…if you are keeping him, you pay him.

I believe Jaylen Brown was 5/305 total and Booker is now 6/315 total. Don't see the problem.
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
I do think we get caught up in the numbers and act like it’s some big thing that Booker signed the highest annual salary extension in history, when in fact it’s just the exact same extension being signed by every max player. It’s just 35% of the cap and multiple players will be making 35% of the cap at the same time Booker is.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Gregory has experienced quite a bit in his first two months as general manager:
- Replaced James Jones, a 2020-21 NBA executive of the year when the Suns reached the finals
- Hired first-year NBA head coach Jordan Ott after an extensive coaching search
- Traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets before the 2025 NBA Draft and acquired Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick of the same draft
- Selected Duke freshman 7-footer Khaman Malauch with that lottery selection and landed center Mark Williams in a separate deal on the first night of the draft
- The Suns later landed Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea in the second round after multiple trades
- Devin Booker has agreed to a two-year extension for a max $145 million to mark the highest annual extension salary in NBA history.

look at OKC, three max guys now SGA, Jalen, and chet...thats not going to age well unless the cap goes up significantly, they should be prime for a lot of sign and trades over the next few yearsTOO wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 8:10 amYeah, when the next guy comes up he'll get even more.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 7:56 amI do think we get caught up in the numbers and act like it’s some big thing that Booker signed the highest annual salary extension in history, when in fact it’s just the exact same extension being signed by every max player. I've commented on this.
Price of "drafting well"/HIGH. Seems like this has-a-happened before with them.
They just had the new "face" of the league riding the new "Bron" wave.......
