A couple Gauchos getting a preview of what's to come.

When were they here in HK? I wasn't paying close attention but I do remember seeing some really tall black kids on MTR.

I am trying to get to Macau to watch an exhibition game...

How Nigel Hayes-Davis detached and made it back to the NBA after seven seasons overseas
By Doug Haller
Sept. 11, 2025

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/661857 ... l-share-ta

Since arriving in town — “I just got me a chair so I’m not eating off the floor,” Hayes-Davis said — he has resumed old habits. Each day, Hayes-Davis arrives at the Phoenix practice facility at 4:15 a.m. First-year head coach Jordan Ott walks in at 5. Development coach Mateen Cleaves shows up shortly thereafter. Hayes-Davis says they have their own little breakfast club. He knows he’ll find his fit.

“You put the guys on the court that can contribute to winning the best,” Hayes-Davis said. “My goal is to continue to work hard, continue to learn from my coaches and teammates, and when I get my opportunities, try to help the team as much as I can.”

Suns and Mercury extend free over-air TV deal as ratings soar

https://arizonasports.com/nba/phoenix-s ... qzn9rtnhjf
The Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury have agreed to a two-year extension with Gray Media and will continue broadcasting their games for free over the air.

That keeps the Suns’ games on Arizona’s Family (Channel 3) through the 2027-28 season.

The Mercury’s games appeared over the past two seasons on either Arizona’s Family or Arizona’s Family Sports, which in the Phoenix area is Channel 44 over the air.

The extension is worth more than $30 million per year, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, which has made up for the money Suns owner Mat Ishbia admitted he left on the table by moving to the over-the-air broadcasts that also has a subscription streaming option.

I didn’t like stretching and waiving Beal but I reckon it’s pretty harsh to say that was the worst move of the offseason.

I feel like the KD trade is much more of an arguable candidate for worst move of the offseason. Waiving and stretching a guy is just standard business; teams do it every summer. It is a huge waste of money, sure, but it isn't a "bad move."

Does the rest of the NBA just not realize how bad Beal was here? Sure, it’s not the ideal move, but he was absolutely useless here. Addition by subtraction in my book.

You can mince all you want but he would have been a cancer here had he stuck around. I'm glad we moved forward.

I think the media gets stuck in some weird inertia when reporting on sports teams. We had a couple bad seasons, so now we can't do anything right forever. But to me, it was glaring that we needed to get more athletic and bigger. We did that. The idea of KD and Beal never translated on the court, and we needed to move on from that; you can argue if we did that in the best way, but we did at least move in the right direction in moving on from those guys. We moved on from a coach that had clearly lost the locker room.

So I think we had a good off season; not perfect for sure, but we definitely addressed the biggest issues we had. Does this mean we're competing for championships? Probably not yet, but even with losing KD and Beal, we're a better team than we were.

Here's the Suns preseason roster. Three additional players have been signed to Exhibition 10 contracts - Damion Baugh, David Duke Jr., and Tyrese Samuel. Baugh and Samuel played for the Valley Suns last year, Duke was with the Spurs and their G-League team in Austin.
