5 games left and a play-in game or 2 then who knows what. We're probably not seeing major changes to the lineup but maybe Ott figures out the subs and rotations so we can get back to our style of play from earlier in the year. I don't know how the offseason will shake out. Still don't like the Book/Green pairing, still not sure Williams is the longterm answer for us but better to have him than not I suppose. As excited as we are for Sheer and Kham, they still seem like guys who will be dependent on others to set them up for shots. Some will disagree because they're so young, which is fine. I just thin we need another self-creator on offense, specifically in the frontcourt, to balance out Book, and to me, the path to that is thru Jalen Green. I'm not suggesting we have to mortgage the future, not that there's much left after the KD trade, but we should keep Book in the back of our minds. He's 30 at the start of next season - it might be wise to push for a frontcourt difference maker sooner than later.
I loved when Cam was here but not sure I want him back. We need a true(ish) 4 who can create and defend (easier said than done) and he can't stay healthy. I might consider it if we can move off Green's deal - Cam makes $23m while Green makes $33m so Denver would have to find salary to throw in unless it's a 3team deal or something. Cam and Naji work for Green but Denver would have to really want Green as a backcourt partner with Murray to juice up the offense.

I think a lot of this was known but it always pops up every few years. I don't think I was aware of the incentives but it's been stated we were only willing to give 3 years instead of 5.

I still contend that Sarver screwed up not re-signing him. I don't care his injury issues. We would have still been much better off especially with the crap Sarver signed to "replace" him. That was the start of 10 years of malaise.

It must burn Shawn Marion up that Amare is going into the HOF and he isn't.

Especially with Nash and D'Antoni also in.

At the time of that contract negotiation, it was well known that Amare's knees were questionable. I fully stand by the decision not to sign Amare to a max contract. People always say it would have been better to keep Amare than sign the bums we did end up signing (Josh Childress, Hakim Warrick, and Hedo Turkoglu). But to me the two were separate. Those three signings were all duds, but that doesn't mean we should have kept Amare; that would have just swapped one awful problem for another. The right choice was neither of these options, either signing some other player or just keeping the cap space free for later.
Honestly if you look at the list of transactions from that summer, there were basically no good players realistically available. Almost every summer move involves a bunch of bums and lowlifes. The very next day after we let Amare go to NYK, Lebron and Bosh signed with the Miami Heat. So we were pretty much F'ed whatever we did.

SUNS IN THE HALL OF FAME
1992 Connie Hawkins*
1996 Gail Goodrich
2006 Charles Barkley*
2004 Jerry Colangelo*
2010 Gus Johnson
2010 Dennis Johnson
2016 Shaquille O'Neal
2018 Charlie Scott
2018 Steve Nash*
2018 Jason Kidd
2018 Grant Hill
2018 Rick Welts
2019 Paul Westphal*
2021 Cotton Fitzsimmons*
2024 Vince Carter
2024 Walter Davis*
2026 Amar'e Stoudemire*
2026 Mike D'Antoni*
*Peak years were with Suns
LIKELY TO MAKE IT EVENTUALLY
Steve Kerr
Kevin Durant
Chris Paul
Shawn Marion*
Devin Booker*
Kevin Johnson*
Tom Chambers*
I'd say Chambers has a 50/50 chance of getting in some day. Kerr, Paul and Durant are all first ballot. Marion and Booker are likely in, but it may take a few years. KJ has been nominated but I think it's still going to take a while.

I have a question about good old chuck. I know he said that he was a better player in Philadelphia, but are you saying that his Peak years were with us because of the success that he had?The Bobster wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 12:38 pmSUNS IN THE HALL OF FAME

I hope Stoudemire goes in as a Sun. Has he said yet?
Re: Suns News: Week 24 (3/30 - 4/5)
Like I said, I disagree. You kind of made my point. No good alternatives so just keep Amare.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 12:34 pmAt the time of that contract negotiation, it was well known that Amare's knees were questionable. It's pretty close for Chuck - but since he won an Olympic golf medal and his MVP plus made it to the NBA Finals with the Suns, I give them a slight advantage.Charlie Smithy! wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 3:39 pmI have a question about good old chuck.
