Suns News: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
Re: Suns News: Week 24 (3/30 - 4/5)
I just don't think we have the assets for a Giannis trade and don't know why we are being mentioned in that conversation. We don't have enough 1sts, and the ones we do have are way in the future; Milwaukee won't want to wait 5-6 years to start getting better. And we don't have any blue chip young players to include. Our youngs like Fleming, Oso, Dunn are okay role players and may grow to be more than that, but nobody would say they come close to being good enough to headline a Giannis package; Milwaukee can do way better than that. Maybe we'd get their attention if we put Booker in the deal, but we won't do that, and even if we did, the Suns wouldn't be a contender with Giannis but without Booker IMO. I agree with the others saying we should just focus on developing the guys we have, for now. If Milwaukee would actually take a package based on Green, Royce, youngs, and one or two 1sts, sure, take the call. But they would be really stupid to take that.

Nightmare scenario would be sending Book with the young guys and teaming Green up with Giannis. Some fans may like that idea and think it'd work.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 7:04 amI just don't think we have the assets for a Giannis trade and don't know why we are being mentioned in that conversation. There’s zero chance we trade Booker for Giannis…that’s stupid.
I think the Giannis trade package will be smaller than most expect. He’ll be on an expiring contract and has had significant health issues the last couple years. I don’t think anyone is braking the bank for him. What Miami offered is probably a good idea…Herro/Ware/2 1sts.

I think the health issues are a bit overblown. What I do wonder is how his game ages. He relies on his athleticism to get down hill and bully guys. He's not KD where he can rely on his jumper until he's 40. Would he transition to more of a point-center role? 22-24 he split his time between PF and C, the past two seasons he's played 1/3 of his time at C. In that case, we'd need Fleming and/or Kham around to help space the floor. I love Oso but spacing might be tough there, same with Williams.
Would the Rockets put together a package to try and go for it with KD the next 2 years? The Knicks are on the radar as well but would the Bucks take KAT and extend him?

He’s played about 65 games a year and he’s been hurt and missed games in 2 of the 4 playoffs since they won the finals. Only played 36 games this year. I think the health issues are a big concern.

I gifted this article to y'all:
Suns shouldn’t scare anyone, even if Dillon Brooks says they’re ‘still lurking’
As the Suns sputter into the playoffs, they don't look like as big a threat as they seemed back in December and January.

To quote an eminent sage: "What's that? Uh ... playoffs? Don't talk about ... playoffs? You kiddin' me? Playoffs?? I just hope we can win a game..."Superbone wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 10:30 amI gifted this article to y'all:

Announcing before the season ends…but it was pretty clear to everyone who should win.
